Spoofing a BLF Signal?
Is there anyway to "spoof" a BLF signal to a phone from within a
dialplan? That being so I can turn a BLF light on or off on a phone
when a certain thing happens in a dialplan?

Light indicator managed by Asterisk
Hello,
is there some way to make Asterisk light up a certain light on an IP-phone ?
Like MWI, the message waiting indicator can light up if there is voicemail.
Could this light, or even other lights (like BLF-buttons) be used to
give a visual notification to the user ?
For example : if a certain value is set in the Mysql-DB and Asterisk
reads out this value, can Asterisk react upon it inside

Polycom screwed up Messages button in 1.4.1?
I think Polycom has added another feature that nobody wants.
With MWI configured, and a phonexxx.cfg that has this:
<msg msg.bypassInstantMessage="1">
<mwi msg.mwi.1.subscribe="" msg.mwi.1.callBackMode="contact"
msg.mwi.1.callBack="XXX" msg.mwi.2.subscribe=...>
</msg>

Cisco 7970 + New Firmware (8.2)
Hi All,
Found out Cisco has some newer firmware available for the 7970 series
of phones. New sip images are at version level 8.2 (instead of
8.0.2,8.0.3,8.0.4), posted Dec 10, 2006. This major jump in version
numbers has fixed a few bugs (time zone not updating properly), but
hasn't figured what some would consider to be showstoppers
(registration not fully working, and mwi still not

Distributed Device States - Best Option
We have used AIS for disturbed Device State in the past, BLF and MWI, We
are in the process of an update on one of our clustered systems, We are
looking at XMPP and I found a few discussions on a Corosync with has
OpenAIS built in.
My question is which should I be looking at to replace my current AIS
option I currently have. XMPP or Corosync?
It looks like the Corosync is just the

Having problems with BLF
Hi,
I'm having a problem getting a snom 300 to work with BLF (extension
222). I've set it to watch extension 220 in the function key config
pages as per the wiki (BLF, <sip:220 at server.com>) but I can't get the
light to come on when 220 is ringing. The SIP trace page doesn't show
anything coming from my PBX when 220 is ringing or in use. Any help
much appreciated as this

GXP2k and BLF problem
Stopping and restarting Asterisk will lose the hints, then you will have
to wait until the phone registers again. With 1.2.7.1 a reload
shouldn't lose anything. Change the register time on the phones to
something less that 60 minutes if it's a big problem. Instead of
factory defaulting the phones you might find a simple restart will
re-register the phone and BLF will work on the phone.

Day/night service and indications on the phone
Hello everybody.
I have created an extension that enables/disables the night
service mode on asterisk (i.e. voicemail is started
on incoming calls, instead of entering a queue).
The night mode is activated/deactivated by the
front desk operator when the office is about to
close, by pressing a line key on the phone, which
dials the related extension.
Does anyone know a way to have an indication

Bug Help or Suggestion - Grandstream GXP2000 (firmware 1.0.2.8) - BLF, Hints, call-limit
Version - Asterisk SVN-trunk-r12793M (1.2.4)
I have 4 Grandstream GXP 2000 phones configured. However at the moment,
I have had to disable BLF, Hints, and Call Limiting due to an extremely
annoying bug which seems to make the phones channels "lock" in busy
after a call has been hungup.
If I do a show hints after say extension 200 has hung up I get the

Attempting to get BLF working with linphone
So I've got a bit further with my project to get BLF working between
asterisk and linphone.
Initially asterisk was rejecting linphone's SUBSCRIBE messages because
they didn't have an Accept: header. I've fixed that and now the initial
SUBSCRIBE messages work and I see all my online contacts in green.
But after a few minutes linphone attempts to renew the subscriptions and

Attempting to get BLF working with linphone
Hi John,
1. Could you get any further, in your quest for working BLF with linphone ?
2. Have you tried with a different Linphone version (4.12 is pending on
Linux, packaged as an AppImage, or 4.11 exists on iOS/Android/Win10) ?
Best regards

Asterisk 11 - BLF on Custom devices
In testing Asterisk 11, I've found that Asterisk doesn't seem to be sending BLF updates to SIP peers that have subscribed to a hint looking at a Custom device if that Custom device state is RINGING or RING_INUSE. All other states seem to be working correctly.
The hint section of the dialplan is:
[hints]
exten => _3XX,hint,Custom:${EXTEN}
Console shows the following for core show

Polycom BLF with Idle State meetme conference
I have meetme working with BLF on polycom phones however when
meetme is not actually being used by anyone the 'status' of meetme
becomes "idle".
Which the Polycom phone sees and produces a clock symbol and FLASHING red
LED.
Are there any 'tricks' or work-arounds to change this status to something
that does not blink the phone's LED making it look busy when meetme is

OT: SIP hardphone with multi-color BLF
Hi,
Is anyone aware of a SIP hardphone with Busy Lamp Fields supporting 2 colors
(or more) ?
This could be very useful to support extended presence, for instance.
