Synchronising Japanese Characters in Rsync
Hi there, I have searched the rsync website, as well as an extensive search on google, but have been unable to come up with a definitive answer regarding whether rsync will synchronise files and directories which have Japanese characters in them. I am using an English language version of Linux, which has some directories shared via samba. Both English and Japanese language windows clients

Invalid characters when dealing with Japanese language
So I'm running uTorrent through Wine and it works for just about every download, but some downloads, particularly ones with files with Japanese characters in them, screw things up. uTorrent reports "Error: Invalid Name" in the status of the torrent, and I noticed that the files being downloaded have been replaced with a bunch of question marks where Japanese characters should be. What do I have to do

IE HTML rendering problem with wine 0.9.8
Hi! I installed both wine-0.9.8 and wine-0.9.9 and winetools. I've installed IE 6 using winetools and IE 6 starts just fine but doesn't render any HTML pages, but instead displays a "HTML rendering is currently disabled" message. I did some searching on Google and found this message on the wine-devel mailing list: http://www.winehq.com/hypermail/wine-devel/2005/06/0775.html

Stupid question about IE and WINE
Hi All, Lamentably, I now have a legitimate need to run Internet Explorer on one of my nice Linux boxes. (It has to do with web design, the fact that many people still use IE, and the need to have a site that work with many browsers and not just the ones that adhere to the official standards.) Up to this point I've managed to happily run many computers for years without ever dealing with

English & Japanese Languages
I just upgraded our two servers to samba-3.0.4-1 (From 2.2.x) on Red Hat 9.0. We have 80 U.S. PC's and 5 Japanese PC's on the main server, and 8 Japanese PC's on the 2nd server. After the upgrade, none of the Japanese PC's can read their files stored on either server. In 2.2, there was code page of 932 set to enable Japanese languages. That gave errors, and is ignored, in
