fail2ban Asterisk 13.13.1
If this is a small site, I recommend you download the free version of SecAst
(www.telium.ca <http://www.telium.ca> ) and replace fail2ban. SecAst does
NOT use the log file, or regexes, to match etc.instead it talks to Asterisk
through the AMI to extract security information. Messing with regexes is a
losing battle, and the lag in reading logs can allow an attacker 100+
registration

iaxModem pickup problem
It depends a bit on your version of FreePBX, but here's a link to show you
how:
http://telium.ca/pages/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19
Hopefully option 1 works for you (quick and easy). If not, you'll have to
try option 2. Ignore option 3 since that's only for users of High
Availability for Asterisk (HAAst).

Lightweight ODBC DB
Hi,
I am running several Asterisk boxes with realtime around the world. Does
anyone have a recommendation for a "light" db that would work with Asterisk
that would also allow replication between all sites (so if I add an entry
to one box it will work with the rest)?
TIA.

Help on Select.list
Hi R,
I am using select.list
names=c("Ravi", "Raj","Shubha","Nivriti")
select.list(names) provides a drop down to choose one of the 4 names.
However I would like to know if it is possible to create a
classification something like this
select.list(names) should give
Boys
Ravi
Raj
Girls
Shubha
Nivriti
I should be able to choose

[PATCH] Dont bypass compiler driver for Dependency generation options
We can let compiler driver pass the right options to preprocessor after
processing -Mxy options, right now its bypassing the gcc driver and
handing them straight to cpp
This also helps in other compilers processing these options correctly
for their preprocessors consumption

rsync errors
Ah... there's your answer. ssh is working fine, as you say, but you're invoking rsync without telling it to user ssh, so it's using rsh. If you've got this, you don't need rsyncd.conf. The syntax you're using tells rsync to use an external transport.
rsync -e ssh file rmt_host:/tmp

ChanSpy with alphanumeric SIP channels [1.6.2]
Hi,
I'm using SIP users of the form 'ab_12345' (two letters, underscore, 5
digits). ChanSpy is working fine for listening in to conversations
initiated by these channels, and I can use '*' to randomly switch
channels. However, is there any way in this scenario to be able to
switch ChanSpy to a specific channel by typing in a ...# key sequence
during a spy session?

Manager events showing in CLI
Ok,
Please, check your manager.conf and logger.conf for any clue about
debugging options, into the Asterisk configuration directory.

iaxModem pickup problem
We run Asterisk 13 using the FreePBX 13.0.190.19 distro based on
CentOS-6.4. We also run HylFAX+ 5.5.3 with iaxModem 1.2.0 on the same
system with AdvantFAX as the web front-end. Our two fax lines are
configured as iax2 DEVICES.
These components have been working together through various versions
since 2013. On Tuesday last our site was subjected to a prolonged
power outage that drained our

help! problem with mongrel, request.remote_ip and lighttpd
I have an existing rails application on lighttpd and I am trrying to upgrade
to mongrel for the enhanced scalability it offers.
I am running mongrel 1.1.1, rails 1.2.5, lighttpd 1.4.13 and ruby 1.8.5
Everything is working great except request.remote_ip returns 127.0.0.1 or
192.168.0.102 (the internal network address of the server running lighty).
I''ve seen some older posts about
