VoiceMail - Allow * for only some users
Hey,
I have free calling to between DDIs and cellphones on our group plan. I
figure it'd be nice to allow staff with those cellphones to be able to
forward callers to their VoiceMail to their cellphones using the *
feature.
I have a standard extension macro that has VoiceMail support.
So far I've done this by duplicating the standard extension macro, and
adding this rule (where ARG1 is

Hula-project and Samba
Hello,
Has anyone run Hula Server (http://www.hula-project.org) and Samba on
the same server and got the user authentication to sync?
I imagine this would involve configuring Samba to use eDirectory
(Novell) which Hula is using for store.
I have searched everywhere for documentation referencing Hula and Samba
integration/authentication but only found one article announcing that
Novell has

Installation globbers ssh_prng_cmds
Gidday,
I've just tried installing openssh-2.2.0p1 and found that it globbers my
ssh_prng_cmds file which has been customised from the normally installed
one. On BSDi 4.0.1 it doesn't detect enough commands for ssh-keygen to be
happy. Most of the commands do actually exist, but I have to specify where
they are.
Could someone please modify the installation scripts to either

Asterisk Manager Proxy - Still required?
Hi,
With more recent version of v1.2 and with v1.4 are things like the
AstManProxy still recommended if you want to have a bunch of
applications talking directly to Asterisk?
Cheers!

IPv6 support?
Hey,
Just wondering if anyone can let me know what the status of IPv6 support
for Asterisk is currently. I see that the branch where development was
happening has gone away. I was trying:
http://svn.digium.com/svn/asterisk/team/blanchet/v6
Has this branched moved to somewhere else?
Cheers!

Samba, Linux, and file locking
Many moons ago, Samba used to build perfectly on Linux. Ever since I
upgraded from 2.2.3, though, I've had to hack the configure script to
get it to build, because Samba's configure is utterly and unshakeably
convinced that no file locking of any kind exists on Linux. Once so
configured, it builds, tests and runs perfectly.
Can anyone tell me why Samba started disbelieving in

Hospitals using Asterisk?
Hello,
The IT folks at a hospital in New Zealand have approached us about
deploying Asterisk, but they would like to talk to people at other
hospitals that have already done this.
If anyone works at a hospital that has deployed Asterisk, or deployed
Asterisk at a hospital would you please get in touch with me? Either
via email, or I'm currently at linux.conf.au in Sydney if you're here.

A strange file-ownership problem
The scenario:
I have two Samba servers on my network. One, running v3.0.37, is on my
main server, a Solaris 10 x86 box. The other, just updated from 3.0.37
to 3.4.5 in the hope of solving this problem, is on my workstation, a
Gentoo Linux box. The Linux Samba server shares only [homes]. The
Solaris Samba server shares [homes] and four other shares. Unix UIDs
are synchromized betwene the

FW outgoing connection with multiple public IPs
My need:
Considering a Sendmail relay running on the firewall (IP: 200.1.1.1),
I need all TCP/SMTP outgoing connections to the Internet appers to be
from another ISP allocated external IP (200.1.1.2), not the main FW''s
IP.
As stated in Docs
(http://shorewall.net/shorewall_quickstart_guide.htm#id2485947), I
read Setup Guide to try to solve my problem but I cannot figure out

Samba-2.2.8 configure problem, locking reported unavailable
I'm trying to upgrade a Linux system that's already running Samba-2.2.7
to Samba-2.2.8. However, whenever I run configure, it complains that it
can find no locking available. 2.2.7 did the same thing, and I
obviously found a way to convince configure that yes, Virginia, there IS
file locking on Linux (DUH!), but I can't remember what I did. Has
anyone else run into this problem, and

SWAT authentication failing
I have Samba-2.2.7 running on two machines, one running Solaris 2.8 and
one running Linux. I'm suddenly finding myself unable to authenticate
to SWAT on the Linux machine, although network clients can still connect
and the same username and password works for smbclient -L.
Anyone have any insights into this one?

RFH: loopback & blktap(2) and CDROM
Hello,
I''m currently trying to understand some problems I had in the past with mixing
look-back with blktap(2) for HV and PV domains. I''m stuck reading the source
code, so I''d like to get some help from the list. Interrupt me if I got
something fundamentally wrong in my understanding so far:
1. With pure-HV the domU gets an emulated IDE (or whatever) disk. The

Winbind traffic not encrypted
A problem here getting winbind traffic to be encrypted using Kerberos.
I have set up a test environment with a pair of servers (actually lxc
containers):
- samba server (ubuntu 16.04, stock samba 4.3.11)
- client machine (ubuntu 16.04) joined with "net ads join" and winbind
The client machine has the following in /etc/samba/smb.conf:
