Single bandwidth pipe
Hi all, Can someone help me in creating a single bandwidth pipe out of two or more bandwidth providers. Say, I have 2 internet connections 1) 128 K 2) 128 K I want to use both of them on a single linux box. Is there any way to do so. Of course loadbalancing can be done, but I don''t want loadbalancing. I want to have a single pipe of 256 K. Some time back I was suggested to use squid on

Hello, I have a client/server architecture in which they don't reside on the same NIS or NFS domains. I need to make a SSH connection to the server from an application running on client. Since the application is not interactive, I am looking for an option in which I could send the password as an argument to the SSH call. The application has its source codes in C programming language. Merely Opening Excel Files Increments Last-Modificationdate on Samba Shares
I have found the following regarding this problem: 1. It occurs only on files that (a) the user does not own AND (b) samba is forcing write permissions on (e.g. with the "force group" or "force create mode"). 2. Problem does *not* occur when "force create mode" and similar are left out of share definition, and you rely on the default standard 644 file modes and 755

Problem : Samba 3.0.2a as PDC with Win2000 Pro
Hi, all.... Honestly I'm a newbie in Linux. For a couple days, I've been trying to build my own PDC server. I've got enough manual resource for guidance, but somehow, untill now I can't log my Win2000 Profesional into the PDC server. I'm using Debian sid kernel 2.6.5, Samba 3.0.2a and a Win2000 box as client. I think there's nothing wrong with my smb.conf ( I guess...

Merely Opening Excel Files Increments Last-Modification date on Samba Shares
I have had the same problem: Shared files, not owned by the user in question, were being deleted and re-written upon saving the file. Because Excel only gives user (not group) permission, it will muck up access for other users in the group. In my case, I was not enforcing anything (when the problem occurred) and my .conf only had the bare minimum of information, I also used method 3, but put a

Password problems with Samba-3.0.4
I'm apparently not the first person to have this problem, but I can't find a fix for it anywhere on the web, or in Usenet. Here's the scenario: I upgraded from 2.2.8a to 3.0.4 during a recent hardware move. All of my client machines are connecting properly, but my users can't change passwords from their WinXP clients now. (Client error message is "bad username or incorrect

Then I unplugged the fiber channel cable and did following commands. echo 1 > /tmp/file1 cp /tmp/file1 /mntb/file echo $? The cp command waited for 30 seconds and there are SCSI and file system error messages on the console as expected. I

Req. For Info: External Journal Pros/Cons, advisable size
I have a basic question, being new to EXT3. What are the pros and cons of using an external journal? Also, for a Terabyte-sized system, what should I use as the external journal's size? is there a general rule-of-thumb to follow when choosing the external journal's size? I know these are very basic questions, if they have been already answered in some FAQ, please let me know. Any

nature of ext3 journal
Is the ext3 journal a transient journal - meaning that its emptied out as and when the transactions recorded in the journal are completed - thus maintaining almost a constant size? Or does it keep growing as time progresses ? Thanks in advance! __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Friends. Fun. Try the all-new Yahoo! Messenger. http://messenger.yahoo.com/

DSCP marking at core
Hi, I want to setup core routers to do both DSCP marking and to get the DSCP and forward packets based on DS field. I don''t want to separate DSCP marking to be done only at the edge routers. I know that dsmark is both used for DSCP marking and for getting the DSCP and forwarding packets according to DSCPs. In my case, since I want to do both of these I need two dsmarks.(?) I am not

re: Voicemail and Cisco Phones
On my 7905s I can configure a "voicemail" number, which in turn activates a "Messages" softkey. When pressed, it goes to that exten, which in turn is configured to go to VoiceMailMain. Great, works like a charm. However, the phones also have a "go to voicemail timeout" after which, the phone diverts the call to voicemail via a "temporarily moved". This
