Hi, I am currently trying to switch from Splus to R and I would like to know whether there is a way of transfering Splus objects stored on disk into the R environment. In Splus I would do this using the function get, e.g., foo <- get(foo, where="dirname") where dirname is the name of a directory containing the Splus objects. In R, argument 'where' of function get appears to

DirectShow filter for Speex
Hi, I've had many requests in the past for a Speex DirectShow filter. Well, the wait is now over, thanks to Jean-Francois Emond. Both source and binaries are available from the "Other software" page (http://www.speex.org/projects.html). Bear in mind that for now, only a subset of Speex features are supported (8 kHz, 15 kbps). For those who would like to know what's coming next,

alternative password database, using ldap instead of , private/smbpasswd
hee hee, jean francois is going to be annoyed. this code is still under "definite alpha" status, but i really, really wanted to get it in there asap. so, the latest cvs checkin adds the ability to use an ldap schema for the passwords, not that i know what one of those actually is (only kidding: i've just never set one up yet). here it is: Subject: LDAP schema objectclass

[LLVMdev] 64-bit add using 2 32-bit operations, guarantee of stuck together?
Using bundles here looks like a fragile way to handle that, IMHO. Really, using a pseudo instruction seems the best approach for you. For instance, you can match your add64 during isel with your pseudo instruction and expand it just before emitting the assembly file (add a pass using the hook: addPreEmitPass on your target). -Quentin On Apr 15, 2013, at 2:37 PM, Francois Pichet <pichet2000

Use of R and Rscript in configure/Makevars in packages
We have seen problems with a number of packages which use R/Rscript to run R code in configure or makefiles. (a) You must give a full path: there need be no version of R in the path, and if there is it might not be the version/build of R under which package installation is being done. So the general form is to use ${R_HOME}/bin/R to select the right version. And since ${R_HOME} might

[LLVMdev] 64-bit add using 2 32-bit operations, guarantee of stuck together?
Hi Francois, If you model the effect of your carry on the instructions, the scheduler (and the other backend passes) should ensure that nothing that affects the carry will be inserted between your two instructions (assuming they are issued with nothing affecting the carry in between in the first place). Therefore, you shouldn’t have to force them to be stuck together. If you still do, what Jakob

[SUMMARY] Rails Core Weekly (May 23 - May 28)
Rails Core Weekly May 23 - May 28 [ http://wrath.rubyonrails.org/pipermail/rails-core/2006-May/001500.html ] On may 23 I just missed an opportunity to report on a patch (http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/5167) politely submitted by Francois Beausoleil that adds a generator for observers. Marcel Molina Jr. hates repeating himself so a generator for observers is most welcome. The patch is applied

[LLVMdev] 64-bit add using 2 32-bit operations, guarantee of stuck together?
I really have to force them to stuck together otherwise the carry will just not work. How about wrapping the 2 instructions in a bundle? Would that be a way? http://llvm.org/docs/CodeGenerator.html#machineinstr-bundles On Mon, Apr 15, 2013 at 5:24 PM, Quentin Colombet <qcolombet at apple.com>wrote: > Hi Francois, > > If you model the effect of your carry on the instructions, the
