Linksys PAP2-NA failures...
Has anybody else experienced problems with the Linksys PAP2-NA's? I've now had two of them fail unexpectedly, with no apparent rhyme or reason, having gone into a RED power LED, with a solid blue ethernet LED. No response from the device either on the network or from the phone.... To make matters even crazier, the one that now failed was the one I received as a replacement for the

Tall free number via FWD over IXA2
I've setup my IAX2 over FWD and it is working I can receive a test call and I can call out. Though I cannot figure out how to dial 1-800 numbers over FWD When I dial 1-800 it hangs up on me. Here is a typical session: Called xxxxx:xxxxxxx@iax2.fwdnet.net/18007425877 -- Call accepted by 65.39.205.121 (format ULAW) -- Format for call is ULAW -- Hungup

On-Hold Music
Hi gang, In 500 words or less (if possible), please explain what is a legal music-on-hold file? My boss hates the stuff provided with the distribution and I figure that I'm asking for trouble if I take my Les Mis tracks and run them through Audacity and SOX to make new files. Thanks in advance Danny Nicholas -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

Music on Hold Quality
Does anyone know how to maximize music on hold quality on calls inbound from PSTN? I know that it is common to have choppy and static sounding music on hold when connecting via PSTN but how can that be minimized? I assume that the bitrates, type of music, etc can minimize the effects. Does anyone have any experience in this area? Do you know where I should look for more information?

Coping music from tapes
OS: CentOS 5.0 x86. Hi, I have some old music tapes and a walkman, and want to move the music to mp3 format. So far I am thinking to use Audacity to record the music to wavs, and then do not know, somehow I will compress the wavs to mp3s as vbr 192 Kbps with something. Has anyone done this? What app did you use for recording the music from the tapes and what app did you use to make it mp3?

Track Markers?
Hello. I have tried filing this as a support request, but have not received any reply in 3 weeks now so am trying this route instead. I hope this is okay. We are trying to talk a record label into offering FLAC streams for a band, and they have finally agreed to do this. Trouble is, the albums have segues - no silences between tracks - and the label want to only offer whole albums. Therefore -

Hi all, I have the Asterisk set up and 2 softphone (Xlite) set up on two other PC. With the following configuration, I can use one softphone (2000) to call the other one (2001) and/or the voicemail at 2999. Here is my problem: 1. When I dial 9+nxxx-xxxx with one of the softphone to the PSTN via X100P card, I got busy tone. (i.e. I want to use the phone line which is connected to the

Music On Hold Help
We have a customer that does not care for the default MoH. We have downloaded some royalty free music but it sounds 'fuzzy' when we test it with the system. We down sample it to 16bit, 8KHz, Mono. We have tried with Audacity, CoolEdit Pro, & VLC. Does someone have a file they can send me that we can test with, or has any tips? Much appreciated, Matt -------------- next part

LoadBalancing on many asimetric different dsl''s.
Hi, my company have just bought new network and I have question about one problem. As in topic we must use few completely different dsl''s and balance traffic between them. 2M/0,5M 4Mb/0,5M 8M/0,5M M=Mb/s I''ve never done such thing before so I have doubts how it will work. If the links are symmetric 2/2 4/4 8/8 there is no problem because with weights I can compensate the

Building LLVM and Clang using Clang?
Try as I might I can't seem to get LLVM to bulid using clang/clang++. No matter what I do it insists on using /usr/bin/cc and /usr/bin/c++ which are gcc. Am I missing something obvious? I vaguely remember some document describing a stage1 compiler built by your old toolchain and a stage2 compiler but I can't find the steps to do that any more. $ CC=/usr/local/bin/clang

clang revision is good, but the kernel is probably too new. Evgenii can comment on that. Bias in R's random integers?
Hi Duncan-- Nice simulation! The absolute difference in probabilities is small, but the maximum relative difference grows from something negligible to almost 2 as m approaches 2**31. Because the L_1 distance between the uniform distribution on {1, ..., m} and what you actually get is large, there have to be test functions whose expectations are quite different under the two distributions.

Pretty recent, I updated a couple days ago. I tried to minimize the attached but at the same time I didn't want to lose too many unions and casts in case it didn't trigger any more. $ clang

Bias in R's random integers?
No, the 2nd call only happens when m > 2**31. Here's the code: (RNG.c, lines 793ff) double R_unif_index(double dn) { double cut = INT_MAX; switch(RNG_kind) { case KNUTH_TAOCP: case USER_UNIF: case KNUTH_TAOCP2: cut = 33554431.0; /* 2^25 - 1 */ break; default: break; } double u = dn > cut ? ru() : unif_rand(); return floor(dn * u); } On Wed, Sep
