If your phones support PoE, I have had huge success with Zyxel: http://www.amazon.com/ZyXEL-ES1100-16P-16-Port-Ethernet-Unmanaged/dp/B00 5GRETMM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1426296572&sr=8-3&keywords=zyxel+poe If you want to go even cheaper, I have successfully used these as well: http://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-8-Port-100Mbps-Switch-TPE-S44/dp/B000QYEN

[OT] switches
Hi, For a very basic setup it would work, but I would suggest POE at a minimum, and vlan support if possible. Gigabit uplinks, 10/100 for the poe ports http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-ProSAFE-M4100-D10-POE-Ethernet-Managed/dp/B00AUEYX0Y/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1424462577&sr=8-3&keywords=netgear+poe and Gigabit all ports

OT - Is Netgear ProSafe FS108P with PoE silent ?
Hi, I need to locate a Asterisk server and a PoE-enabled switch on someone's desk. I've seen this Netgear ProSafe FS108P with 4 10/100 and 4 10/100 w/PoE ports silent enough ? Any recommendation ? Good comparisons on cheaper VOIP phones
Hello list, I am doing some work for a non profit group. As part of this, I am going to be putting in a 30 handset Asterisk solution. We are trying to keep the costs down as much as possible, as this job includes cabling, I am looking at POE solutions. On the switch side, I am considering something like some Netgear ProSafe FS726TP 24 port switches, or maybe the equivalent Linksys SRW224MP 24

Can I pass PPTP packets thru 2 firewalls?
Is it possible to pass PPTP packets through 2 firewalls before they hit the remote access server? I installed a Netgear ProSafe VPN firewall as the first line of defense in my network. I have since set up a Fedora Core 2 server running Shorewall 2.1.3 and Squid in non-transparent mode, between the Netgear unit and my network. So, the Netgear faces the Internet with a public, static, IP address.

Mini PCs
If it had two (or more) network ports, I'd be all over it. A single gigabit nic is a bit limiting for me. Bonding wired and wireless ifaces
Hello all, I'm wondering if there's any interest in trying to bond em1 and eth0 (respectively wired and wireless interfaces here), and if any, how to do it in CentOS6. I've found this, which could possibly help (but I'm failing yet): http://r.outlyer.net/linux:bonding https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBonding Both are dealing w/ ifenslave. Inexpensive Layer 3 Switch?
Any recommendations on an economical layer 3 switch? Preferably something that you have hands on experience with connecting to IP phones with attached PCs? Specifically I need the ability to set the VLAN in the phone to tag voice packets and to set a native VLAN on a per port basis on the switch to put the untagged packets from the attached PC into a separate VLAN. POE is not a requirement

specifying lme function with a priori hypothesis concerning between-group variation in slopes
I want to specify a 2-level mixed model using the lme function in order to test an a priori hypothesis about the between-group values of the slopes but don't know how to do this . Here is the problem. Consider first the case of a single group. The model is: Y_i= a +bX_i + error where I indexes the different values of X and Y in this group . The a priori hypothesis of the slope is: b=K.
