[Bug 1457] X11 Forwarding doesn't work anymore on a solaris 10 host where ipv6 has not been enabled
https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1457 --- Comment #9 from Ian Donaldson <iand at ekit-inc.com> --- Ok agreed, my patch reopens that CVE. The problem is that on Solaris 9 and Solaris 10 if you don't have IPv6 addresses configured, getaddrinfo() returns both AF_INET and AF_INET6 entries, and it returns AF_INET6 *first*. An attempted bind() to an AF_INET6 address on a system

X11 forwarding to IPv6 enabled host not working.
I have been experiencing a problem with using X11 forwarding on an IPv6 enabled host (both CentOS 4.3 and Feddora Core 5 in x86) when X11UseLocalhost is off. Having looked at the code and the previous discussion regarding http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=164 I think the problem is due to the IPV6_V6ONLY code interacting poorly with the DONT_TRY_OTHER_AF hack. Basically, on current

[Bug 164] X-forwarding when connecting to an IPv6-enabled host doesn't work.
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=164 ------- Additional Comments From cjwatson at debian.org 2002-10-27 00:16 ------- Marco d'Itri suggested in http://bugs.debian.org/153154 that ssh should only bind to AF_INET addresses in x11_create_display_inet(), since at least the xtrans code in XFree86 doesn't support IPv6. Is this a valid approach? ------- You are receiving this

X11 forwarding with IPv6 disabled
Hello all, one more (ever-returning) bug [1] reported recently caught my eye. The problem is that disabling IPv6 in kernel leads to OpenSSH failing to bind localhost IPv6 address and after the fix for CVE-2008-1483 [2] leads to the whole X11 forwarding fail. If I read the description of the CVE in question correctly, we should care only of the case when the address is already used (errno =

AIX <--> Solaris X11 Forwarding Problem
I have an X11 application installed on a Solaris 5.7 server. ?The server runs the OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 daemon. ?I then SSH to this server from OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 under AIX with X11 forwarding enabled. ?I can run X utilities, such as xclock and xterm, without any problems. ?However, the X11 application I require (a Privacy Manager GUI) creates an empty window frame. If I telnet from the AIX server to the

x11 forwarding problem on solaris
Hi! I am having problems using openssh-3.8.1p1 on sparc-sun-solaris2.8 to connect to another sparc-solaris or x86-linux machine with X11 forwarding enabled. After connecting tot the remote box if I start emacs, type a few characters and then try to select the text with the mouse emacs crashes. This reproduces reliably on a number of solaris/linux machines. Here is the output of ssh -v
