A couple months ago, I had a problem packaging llvm-gcc for macports
because one of the binaries from llvm-gcc was somehow getting used by
Apple's gcc driver instead of the native one. This was causing some
subtle bugs for people. Anyway,

[patch] 3.7.1p2: slogin symlink fixes
Hello,
There are three small problems with the "slogin" and "slogin.1" symlinks
created upon installation:
1. "./" is included in the target path unnecessarily.
2. Symlinks are assumed to be available, while only hardlinks could.
3. EXEEXT is not respected for slogin.
Here is a fix for both problems -- the "./" is simply removed, EXEEXT is
added, the

No, it looks like the snapshot updater stopped updating. Damien's onto it.

openssh cross compilation issue
Hi,
I'm cross compiling openSSH-6.2p1 on a ARM architecture
with
zlib-1.2.7
openssl-1.0.1e
the compilation succeeds but when I launch sftp x.y.z.t it fails:
exec: /home/working_area/disk1/usr/bin/ssh: No such file or directory
the problem is that /home/working_area/disk1/ is the path within the host PC
Is there a way to fix the cross-compilation or to export a variable in
the target

Status of upcoming 2.6.0 release
The changes made to 2.6.0pre1 have been pretty minor so far, so I had
been debating whether we needed a pre2 release or not. I finally
decided to go ahead and release what little there is, just to give
folks a final opportunity to double check the final release:

[PATCH/cygwin]: Fix Makefiles
Hi,
below is a patch which only affects Cygwin. It adds the $(EXEEXT)
suffix in calls to install, and it fixes the list of documentation files
to install into /usr/share/doc/openssh in a Cygwin installation.
Thanks,
Corinna

another missing link in febootstrap; failing tests for libguestfs
After the last round of patches to febootstrap, the image-based test in
libguestfs still failed. It turned out that this happens because Debian
started replacing /var/run and /var/lock with symlinks that point to a
tmpfs mounted to /run. The symlinks were copied to the appliance but
/run/lock did not exist, so pvcreate refused to run (script
'images/guest-aux/make-debian-img.sh').

Parallel build problems with dovecot 2.2.32
I use dovecot under FreeBSD 10.3 and build using poudriere. My build
server has 12 cores builds typically happen in parallel and I find
software that is not parallel make friendly will fail once every month
or so.
Attached is a build log from this afternoon that failed because
doveadm-util.o had not finished building when the attempt to link
test-doveadm-util happened.

[RFC 0/2] add engine based keys
Engine keys are private key files which are only understood by openssl
external engines. ?The problem is they can't be loaded with the usual
openssl methods, they have to be loaded via ENGINE_load_private_key().
?Because they're files, they fit well into openssh pub/private file
structure, so they're not very appropriately handled by the pkcs11
interface because it assumes the private

additional compiler hardening flags
Hi all.
Any reason not to turn these on if the system supports them? They're
cheap but not free (a bit under 1% slower to run the complete regress
suite in a completely unscientific test).
They're based on info from these places:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ToolChain/CompilerFlags
http://wiki.debian.org/Hardening
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/hardened/gnu-stack.xml
and I've attempted to
