Permission denied on GPT.ini (Event ID 1058)
Ok, try this. Gif the pc a uid and check again. If it works then, its a share or security right. Gpupdate /force works because at that point you "user"/user has a uid and gid. The error occurs at start up because the COMPUTERNAME$ doent have access to that gpt.ini. Resetting sysvol in that case doent help because the right on the gpt.ini is set by the group you assigned to the

[LLVMdev] scalar-evolution + indvars fail to get the loop trip count?
Hi, Seems pass scalar-evolution+indvars fail to get the loop trip count of the following case: int foo(int x, int y, int lam[256], int alp[256]) { int i; int z = y; for (i = 255; i >= 0; i--) { z += x; lam[i] = alp[i]; } return z; } The final optimized ll code is : define i32 @foo(i32 %x, i32 %y, i32* %lam, i32* %alp) nounwind { entry: br label %bb bb:

Distribution of Commercial RPM
Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this. Is there a location to upload paid for RPM for distrubution, ie a store for CentOS? Is there a discription of how to create your own RPM repository for distrubution? What about updates of these RPM?

Regarding Bivariate normal distribution.
Dear all R gurus, My question is related to statistics rather directly to R. Suppose (X,Y) has a bivariate normal distrubution. I want to find two values of X and Y say x, and y respectively, such that: P[X<x, Y<y] = 0.05 My questions are : 1. Can x and y be uniquely found? 2. If it is, how I can find them using R Your help will be highly appreciated. Thanks and regards,

[Trivia question] What engine is it on DTrace T-shirt ?
Hi, This is not a DTrace technical question (so, please don''t flame me for it) :) This is regarding the DTrace (un)conference TShirt. I am curious to know what engine is it. Could not figure it out. Changing the centos name on boot
I have changed most of the things, the grub, issues. Since I run a minimal, I dont really have a gnome login screen, all text based (no GUI). The only place I am not able to trace is the booting time screen. Changing the centos name on boot
I am kinda getting a tweaked distrubution with CentOS, So this is kinda rebranding. I am not trying to change the hostname, trying to change the System OS name in the on boot screen. I have changed the grub configuration file and it reflects in the Boot OS selection screen, login screen. But only in the on boot screen does it not reflect. My search led me to something called plymouth, and the

chan_h323 readme file
Hello I am getting ready to install chan_h323. Just updated my * with the latest code from CVS (12/08/03). I was reading the Readme file and confused. Quoted from the README NOTICE: Whatever you do, DO NOT USE distrubution specific installs of Open H.323 and PWLib. In fact you should check to make sure your distro didn't install them for you without your knowledge. Check everything out of

Connection hang, can't stop SSH
Using OpenSSH_8.3p1 I had an open (working) connection to some other box; after a bit of inactivity, some device in the middle seems to have forgotten about the TCP connection (NAT) and broke it. I've got an EscapeChar defined, though; so first I tried to send a BREAK and, when that didn't help (TCP already gone, packets get lost!), I tried (just out of curiosity) a Rekey. Now I can see

[Pv-ops][PATCH 0/4 v4] Netback multiple threads support
This is netback multithread support patchset version 4. Main Changes from v3: 1. Patchset is against xen/next tree. 2. Merge group and idx into netif->mapping. 3. Use vmalloc to allocate netbk structures. Main Changes from v2: 1. Merge "group" and "idx" into "netif->mapping", therefore page_ext is not used now. 2. Put netbk_add_netif() and netbk_remove_netif()

Asterisk on Windows
Digium is 100% lost in the map. If they would come up with a Paid version of Asterisk, one that would use the .NET framework in Windows, something simple to install, they could go public on the product. Linux has a very steep learning curve. A Windows application that would do exactly the same would be a home run. Note: I am a Linux expert user, but it took me years to get here. And still, moving

When should LVM be used?
In my old computer I have a much bigger hard drive then in this one -- and I plan to hand that old computer down to one of my sons -- keeping his current drive from an even older computer. Currently the hard drive on my old computer has SuSE Linux, but that will go. I'll rebuild CentOS 5.5 on it, but I want to leave some free space for whatever comes up and also dual-boot Vector Linux. Which,

glm poisson, method='ML' (PR#10985)
Full_Name: saraux Version: 2.6.1 OS: Windows vista Submission from: (NULL) (193.157.180.37) I would like to compute a glm with a distribution of poisson, using a maximum of likelihood method. But it seems not to work with a distribution of poisson. The same code with another distrubution (binomial for example) works. Here is the command I typed:

ks.test; memory problems
Hi R-help, I am interested in comparing two vectors of data observations to see if they come from the same distrubution (and have settled on the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test to do this).. I'd prefer to use all my data points, but computationally speaking, this is proving to be troublesome due to the size of my vectors (the larger of the two is about 90 million observations). I suppose I could
