Update on Kernel panic executing gkrellm.
For what it's worth, back in April of last year I reported that gkrellm had started generating kernel panics with 7.1503's kernel. I can now report that with the latest 7.1511 kernels (327.4.5 being the latest I have installed) gkrellm is once again behaving for me. Just wanted to close the loop and say that whatever had broken has been fixed, for my hardware.

Kernel panic, CentOS 7.1503 fully updated, with executing gkrellm.
Just a heads up, since I know gkrellm is in EPEL and not in the main CentOS repos. However, something fairly fundamental has changed, as prior to updating, gkrellm worked fine, but now every time I execute gkrellm the kernel panics. I'm going to triage on a different machine, as the panic corrupted at least one system library used by nautilus, but rpm -Va is your friend in these

Can't see more than 8 files? MTU-ish issue?
A colleague is working with a Samba installation where Windows clients are accessing the server over a VPN. They are seeing an issue where a share is visible, but if a directory contains more than 8 files, they get an error. The VPN is set to allow everything in both directions. Windows->Window sharing does work OK across the link, as do other large file transfers (NFS, FTP). The Samba

Error: Device 0 not connected
Hi, I''m new to Xen and I''ve set up a few domUs using Debian (I suspect there may be a problem there, see at end). To begin with everything worked OK, I rebooted domUs without any problems, but twice now when I try when I try to restart or shutdown a domain, the xm command locks up. # xm list Error: Device 0 not connected Usage: xm list [options] [Domain, ...] List information

Patches to enable MTUs >1500 in el5.6 ready for testing.
Hi all, With help from others, I''ve been able to get Olaf''s patch for enabling MTUs >1500 for vifX.y and tapZ devices working. I''ve been able to boot dom0, launch domU and live-migrate without having the bridge''s MTU degrade at any time. Would the Xen RPM maintainers (and others) mind taking a look at the following patches? Kernel part:

can't open files off of samba shared drive on w2k/xp workstations
Hi, I have somewhat successfully got Samba working where as users can map the drives to their win2k/xp workstations and wrote to the folders they are given permissions to. They can write to the folder, delete folders, write files, delete files, view the file listing, however, they can't open files. For instance, if there is a word document, they can't just double click on the share and

SYSLINUX 2.06 released
I have released SYSLINUX 2.06; it's basically identical to 2.06-pre4. I'm doing this now because the bug fixes are so major and because I am not sure I'll be around next week. -hpa 2.06 is a bug fix release. Changes in 2.06: * ALL: Fix problem that would occationally cause a boot failure, depending on the length of the kernel. * ISOLINUX: Fix problem

Jumbo Frame performance or lackof?
After successfully getting higher MTU to work on my Realtek NICs, I started testing the impact of higher MTU on file transfers using NFS exported ramdisk to ramdisk. The results were unexpected. The higher the MTU on the sending NIC, the lower the file transfer speed. I tested by using time cp to copy a 1GB file (In case compression might affect the results, so I dd the test file from the CentOS

e1000e NIC and MTU issues
Hello, I am observing a performance degradation (of about 100 Mbps dropl) between two domUs on different hosts when I set the MTU on dom0 to anything > 1500. The domUs are still configured with MTU of 1500, so effectively there isn''t any traffic with bigger MTU ever generated. And the network is jumbo frame capable. Furthermore, when I check the interrupts/second for dom0 using

packet counts: twice as high on one leg?
Hi all, I have two phones that I've been comparing (different manufacturers). To debug call quality issues on one of them, I've been using calls from the phone to our main DID, so 3 SIP sessions exist (phone <> asterisk then asterisk <> provider, and the provider<>asterisk for the DID). The "bad" phone shows roughly twice the number of packets on the

Re: Re: how to realize "MLPPP LFI" on linux
Hi,Andy Thank your very much! For the MLPPP LFI,I found that in Cisco configuration,it use "ppp multilink;ppp multilink fragmentation;ppp multilink fragment-delay 20;ppp multilink interleave " command to enable MLPPP LFI.So I think just realizing the same function on my linux router would be fine. But I got no idea how to do this on linux. So is there anything with iproute2?Would you

Established connection timing out
I don't believe you've said: are the disconnects happening during periods of idleness on the connection, or periods of activity? If idleness, some device or script could be actively doing a disconnect-on-idle.
