sshd "getpeername failed: Transport endpoint is not connected" error
Thanks for suggestion. That was, indeed, a problem on our network. Sorry for bothering you. BTW, "-r" option is not included in a man page, it doesn't seem to have any effect as well. 2015-12-11 5:47 GMT+03:00 Darren Tucker <dtucker at zip.com.au>: > On Wed, Dec 9, 2015 at 7:43 PM, Andrey Klimentev <andrei650816 at gmail.com> wrote: >> Hello, everybody.

Fwd: sshd "getpeername failed: Transport endpoint is not connected" error
Hello, everybody. I've recently encountered a problem with OpenSSH server. Could you help me to troubleshoot it? I've configured 2 IP interfaces[1]: one with a public IP adress and one with a private address. When I connect[2] through the public interface (ens34), SSH works fine, but when I connect[3] through the private interface (ens32), I receive a rather cryptic message on my client

[PATCH] Large log output does not print newline
Hi, I think I found a minor bug in OpenSSH's log functionality: If a log message which is larger than MSGBUFSIZE=1024 and logged to stderr, then the newline (\r\n) is not printed. This is due to the fact that the newline is added after the log message concatenated with "\r\n" is snprintf'd to another buffer of the same size. If the source buffer (fmtbuf) would already fill the

How to add configuration (~/.ssh/config) per ip?
Hi, at work we have hundreds of machines, and for various of reasons, their hostnames (with domain) do not reflect their physical location. This means that for host "a.bb.cc" i have to go through jump host "jump1.bb.cc", and for "c.bb.cc" i have to go through jump host "jump2.bb.cc". which jump host should be used can be deduced by IP, but it looks that

preauth privsep logging via monitor
Hi, This diff (for portable) makes the chrooted preauth privsep process log via the monitor using a shared socketpair. It removes the need for /dev/log inside /var/empty and makes mandatory sandboxing of the privsep child easier down the road (no more socket() syscall required). Please test. -d Index: log.c =================================================================== RCS file:

ssh-keygen: sanitize ANSI escape sequences in key comment
Hi, Today I fiddled around a bit with my OpenSSH public key files, and I noticed that ssh-keygen prints most non-printable characters in the comment as-is when showing the fingerprint of a key. This can lead to confusing output on the terminal when the comment contains ANSI escape characters which are interpreted by the terminal. The attached public key file serves as an example, which, when

OpenSSH banner doesnot display multibyte characters like korean
Hello, The banner message displayed on the screen contain octal values instead of korean chars. Prior to ssh 5.1 the banner message would display the charaters properly. I understand that starting from 5.1 the message is passed through strnvis() function. I looked into documentation on strnvis and found that it does not support multibyte chars and doesnt work well with international chars.

log-server.c patch: adding tag to every log output.
The attached modification to log-server.c add a "tag" to all the syslog output. The tag is a composite of the internal verbose level names used in sshd and the external syslogd names. The form of the tag is as follows. ssh_internal_name(syslog_priority) This might be instructive for a learning sysadmin trying to setup syslog for sshd logging. (I have posted earlier about
