smbclient porting to Handheld device
Dear Andrew Tridgell and Samba Team, You have done a wonderful job in providing an excellent piece of software. I am interested in porting smbclient to Handheld device, mostly as a hobby. Please see my website http://vieka.com/. Because some of the Handheld OSs don't have the ability to access Windows share resource, specifically, the new Pocket PC by Microsoft, I would like to add this

uploading listening samples?
I've been encoding my CD collection with mostely great results. However, there is the oddball that doesn't sound as it should (mostely I get flanging effects on high-frequency sounds like cymbals). I've seen people upload samples and post it here so that the developers might have a look at them. Now I don't have any online space. Is there an ftp site or something I can upload

Sweave and abbreviating output from R
Dear List, I'm using Sweave to produce a series of class handouts for a course I am running. The students in previous years have commented about wanting output within the handouts so they can see what to expect the output to look like. So Sweave is a godsend for producing this type of handout - with one exception: Is there a way to suppress some rows of printed output so as to save space

Handouts / Reports or just simply printing text to PDF?
I assume R won't easily generate nice reports (unless one starts using Sweave and LaTeX) but perhaps somebody here knows a package that can create report like output for special cases? How can I simply plot output into PDF? Perhaps you know a package I should check out? What do you guys do to create handouts (before actually publishing)? Thanks in advance, Ralf

Stallman @ NYU
I did manage to dv-tape this from the front row, and thus got pretty fair audio, but a slightly awkward camera angle. NYU Media Lab had a tripod set up at the back, and were apparently intending to webcast the results via real. They were a little taken aback when I mentioned Richard's aversion to propietary formats, and thanked me profusely for pointing it out, and saving them grief.

Trying to get started with virt-p2v
I need to p2v migrate a Windows server and I am soooo confused! By now, I've done a few virt-v2v migrations, so I get how that works. I attended Richard and Matthew's Red Hat Summit talk about virt-p2v and just now downloaded the handouts. If I understand what's going on, virt-p2v is pretty much the same as virt-v2v, except that the physical system to migrate from needs to boot

OT A little off topic - Logo for promotion purposes?
Hi, I'm putting some promotional material together and noticed that most proprietary codec manufacturers have a nice eye-catching memorable logo. Does the CELT codec have a snazzy logo that I can use as a nice memory aid when telling people how great the codec is? thank you, Paul.

I am using Sweave to produce handouts for teaching. Is there a way of making Sweave keep the comments following the `#' in the code chuncks? [OT] FreePBX + Trunk over VPN + Local LAN
Hello, First let me apologize for posting about a GUI topic on here. There's a reason why I did that, and it's because the underlying concept of this is connected to Asterisk. Here's my situation: Twenty wifi clients connecting to our wireless router (Cisco Linksys E4200 loaded with Tomato). All these WiFi clients are running eyeBeam (in case you're wondering where the calls come

Imputing missing values using "LSmeans" (i.e., population marginal means) - advice in R?
Hi folks, I have a dataset that consists of counts over a ~30 year period at multiple (>200) sites. Only one count is conducted at each site in each year; however, not all sites are surveyed in all years. I need to impute the missing values because I need an estimate of the total population size (i.e., sum of counts across all sites) in each year as input to another model. >

Anova in 'car': "SSPE apparently deficient rank"
I have design with two repeated-measures factor, and no grouping factor. I can analyze the dataset successfully in other software, including my legacy DOS version BMDP, and R's 'aov' function. I would like to use 'Anova' in 'car' in order to obtain the sphericity tests and the H-F corrected p-values. I do not believe the data are truly deficient in rank. I

OT: Displaying errors on credit-card processing
Hi, This question isn''t Rails-specific, but since Basecamp (& the family of premium 37signals apps) have the best implementation of credit-card processing I''ve seen, I''m hoping maybe DHH could lend an answer. Of course, anyone is welcome to chime in! # Some background Our nonprofit is building a Rails-driven store and donation center and our developer is
