Little help with NUT on a Energizer UPS
04242006 1112 GMT-6 Im a fairly new user to linux, Ubuntu specifically, and am trying to understand this NUT. I have a Energizer HMOF600 that I used when I was still on windows. I didnt even realize it wasnt working until the power went off this weekend. Someone in the Ubuntu forums suggested NUT. I did a search and found a link saying my UPS was covered by NUT. I have installed NUT via

megatec over USB - new driver patch
Hello, all. Some time ago I bought myself a UPS which was advertised as USB-HID. It was a surprise to learn that while it definitely is recognized as USB device, the HID descriptor has no UPS pages at all. The only software it came with was a windows program written in visual basic. Trying to research this topic I found a reference to energizer USB ups driver and learned about variety of

usb doesn't build on mac os x (10.4)
I am having problems building usb on mac os x. First, mac os x doesn't seem to have asm/types.h, just sys/types.h. I can't find hiddev.h on mac os x either. Also, it doesn't have usb.h but instead IOKIT/usb/USB.h. I am using mac os x (10.4), and the latest cvs of nut. Is the new usb support going to work on mac os x? Is anyone working on it? It seems that libusb is available

Unitek UPS driver/Rewrite of energizerups using libhid
Hello, I've rewritten the energizer ups to use libhid like tripplite_usb does and to add support for my Unitek UPS. This driver needs hotplug scripts to set permission to the nut group with idVendor : 0x0F03 and idProduct : 0x0001 This is my first _real_ participation in an Open Source project, I hope I'm doing things the right way. Any ideas and comments are welcomed.

Build 2.0.4, usb.h missing.
Hi! I've got a Mandrake 2006.0 machine and a APC Back-UPS Pro 500/1000/1500 (from lsusb). The Mandrake package version of nut is 2.0.1 and hidups actually detects the UPS, however I get loads of these: Sep 12 18:26:11 vader hidups[7658]: Ignoring x86 page event 0xff860080 (0) Sep 12 18:26:11 vader hidups[7658]: Unhandled event: 0x840058 (6) Sep 12 18:26:11 vader hidups[7658]: Unhandled

ST7 RS232 USB Bridge (STMicroelectronics) UPS
I used a brazilian UPS from "TS-Shara" which uses the megatec serial protocol and it works perfectly. Now I have another one from the same brand (TS-Shara) and it uses a USB cable. energizerups == megatec_usb -x subdriver=agiler?
Looking for ioctl() calls in the drivers, I noticed that the energizerups.c code looks a lot like a megatec protocol over a USB connection. It uses 8 bytes per packet, which makes it look like the agiler subdriver in megatec_usb. Do we know if there are people that use this driver now and that might be able to verify this? energizerups and bestups -> megatec?
Hi! I don't know how I missed it before, but "bestups" seems to implement mostly the same protocol as megatec. Is anybody out there using this driver willing to try "megatec" to see if it works? AFAIK, the only difference seems to be the command that gets the UPS identification data ("I" on "megatec", "ID" on "bestups"), but

NUT on AIX 5.2 with Tripplite_usb?
Short version - can I run NUT on an AIX box with UPS that has a USB interface, like a Tripplite OMNI1500 XL? I downloaded the source and compiled it, but then noticed that while the source file tripplite_usb.c file is present, it wasn't compiled (this is the driver shown on the compatibility list for my ups). So I started looking at the make files and noticed there were no entries in

Need help with Unitek Alpha 1200sx.
Hi, I'm new to NUT. I've installed Fedora 8 and NUt along with it. I'm now having a go at getting my Unitek Alpha 1200sx UPS to work and shutdown the box automatically. I know this isn't officially supported but I'm trying my luck... I've seen that other Unitek UPSs use the 'megatec' driver however I'm unsure whether this will do the trick. My UPS comes with a

gcc4 noise
Is anyone besides me using gcc 4.*.*? I noticed that NUT generates an enormous amount of warning noise with that compiler, mostly due to implicit casts between signed/unsigned pointer types. Any volunteers to de-noise the code a bit? The easy way is to insert typecasts; the better way is to actually take care about signedness. -- Peter gcc -I../include -O -Wall -Wsign-compare -c -o everups.o

ORVALDI 650/750/900SP.
hi, i've bought a 750VA orvaldi ups http://en.orvaldi.com/index.php/en/product_catalog/product_view/11/162 which holds my hardware (wifi router, cable modem, quad-core with raid and lcd monitor) for ~15 minutes. pretty nice result for a cheap (~57 euro) home ups. in fact, the vendor software for linux is very old (e.g. requires ancient redhat with qt2), requires db9 port while shipped

Is this really needed/desirable? I think this kind of information needs to be put in the AUTHORS document. There are many more people on this list that put a lot of effort in NUT, without claiming credit
