UPS Groups?
Maybe this will clear up what I was initially thinking.
In this diagram all lines on the right of the UPSs are power lines and all
lines on the left are serial/usb lines.

I forgot to mention: the slave configuration is generally going to be manual, unless you segment the UPS output circuits

Nut client for VMware ESXi 5.x version 1.3.0 released
Dear NUT users,
New ViB package version 1.3.0 for VMware 5.x has been released.
What's new :
- Nut upgraded to 2.7.2
- Multiple ups support. You can provide an UPS at NUT_server list in the NutUpsName vmware UserVars. Use space as a separator. NUT client will initiate a shutdown when that last standing UPS goes low batt. All UPS at NUT_server have to use the same user/password.

NUT control of vCenter & vServer?
Thanks Bart. Unfortunately "The VIB module does not comply with the
security recommendations imposed by VMWare. You lose VMWare support by
installing this package." This pretty much rules out this option. :(
We need vCenter support, as well.

NUT control of vCenter & vServer?
That's certainly on the list of options. I'm doing data gathering right now
to see what options there are. I'd prefer not to rashly decide to run off
in a direction only to discover this is already a Solved Problem.

Power Down ESXi before SAN
I have 2 APC UPS systems, one is connected to my ESXi host and the other to
my FreeNAS. The battery for the FreeNAS will run out before the battery
for the ESXi, so I need ESXi to shutdown first. If I wait until
BatteryLow on ESXI, it will be too late as FreeNAS will have already
shutdown. How can I change the configuration on ESXI to shutdown after a
small delay so that it is done before

Compiling Libvirt-snmp on VMware Vsphere ESXi
How can I compile and run Libvirt-snmp on VMware Vsphere ESXi? Can somebody
guide me with step by step procedure.
I tried to followed steps mentioned on Libvirt Website
<https://libvirt.org/compiling.html> but I guess they are for Linux
distribution. Because I could not execute ./configure command.
After searching on Google I found a similar question

NUT configuration with APC CS650 and ESXi host
Hello,
I have decided to upgrade my home server by turning it into an ESXi host
and have also added an APC CS650 UPS.
My plan was to have NUT version 2.6.4 running in a Debian 7.7.0 virtual
machine, NUT installed using apt.
I configured NUT to run as a netserver, installed the ESXi nut .vib,
configured the shutdowncmd in the VM to do nothing, so that the ESXi host
would close that virtual machine

in spite of the title, it works for ESXi 6 and 7 as well

I suspect that this is definitely vm related now. I've tried Ubuntu server
10.10 as you suggested, and also Debian wheezy and both do the same thing.
I saw in another thread that the author of the .vib of nut for ESXi is on
this mailer - hopefully he can shed some light on what's happening. I would
even be happy if I can
