I got my USB ups reporting on macOS, but it was quite a while ago, I’ll have to dig into how I did it.. I do remember is wasn’t simple.. ( actually is was long drawn out pain in the …. ) Maybe search for posts from me, I’ll check what I did on the weekend and get back to you.. Or, buy an APC.. as they will just appear in Energy Saver.. > On 6 Jun 2018, at 15:41, Charles Lepple

Check package issue on mavericks
I just checked your package on a mavericks VM and it seems fine, so I wouldn't worry about it. Probably some configuration issue on the CRAN server, perhaps xquartz is outdated. Unfortunately there is no easy way anymore to check on Mavericks. Travis used to support it, but they have deprecated mavericks (along with Apple and homebrew). Hopefully CRAN will update to the current MacOS for the

Emerson/Liebert GXT3
Hi, I've bought a Liebert GXT3 UPS and I'm trying to use it with nut. I'm using Ubuntu 14.04, but I'm having troubles (similar to this thread [1]) using the standard "nut" package from the Ubuntu repositories. After some more searching, I've found this very recent thread in this list ("Return on experience with an Emerson/Liebert GXT3" [2]), and from my

MAC R crashes
Dear R-Help Group: R will not start on my imac running 10.6.2. I installed both R2.10.1 and 2.10.0 from pkg. It crashed on both. I tried both the R and R64 apps and both versions 2.10.1 and 2.10.0. I googled and found nothing on this. Below is part of report: Process: R [767] Path: /Applications/R64.app/Contents/MacOS/R Identifier: org.R-project.R Version: R

OSX Yosemite (10.10): Are package binaries the same as for OSX Mavericks (10.9)?
I'm trying to help someone to troubleshoot possible OSX Yosemite issues, but I've only got access to OSX (< 10.9) so I cannot check myself. When building/installing binary R packages, there are different binaries depending on OSX version. For instance, CRAN provides different binaries for 'OS X Snow Leopard' and 'OS X Mavericks', e.g.

datetime_select, is creating an instance of the Time class
Hello It seems that datetime_select, is creating an instance of the Time class. Why would that be? I found this while building a site where people can create vigils (prayer vigils, peace vigils, etc). When I added a validation method that compared start_date to created_at, it generated the error: ArgumentError (comparison of Time with DateTime failed): I was able to put a breakpoint in the

gsl package on mavericks
hello I maintain the gsl R package, and many users have recently reported that the package does not install from source under macosx 10.9 ("mavericks"). Users typically install the gnu GSL library and are able to compile and run a small "hello world" program which executes some of the Bessel functionality of the library; but under mavericks the configure script (which uses

mpi.h errors on Mavericks packages
Dear mac folks, I have started porting a large legacy toolset maintained in windows and heavily mpi laden so it can be used across platforms in R... so I am building a package out of it. On this note, I am noticing that almost all of the mpi dependent packages do not compile on the CRAN repositories.... with the basic issue that it appears it can not find mpi installed: configure: error:

Check package issue on mavericks
Dear List, I've realized that the "CRAN Checking Package" system returns some Warnings for my package TR8 under "r-release-osx-x86_64-mavericks"; all the warnings include the following message "Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key" which I find a little cryptic. After some web searches, I understood that "MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE" is related to the X server and

Issue with Mavericks Mail Client
We run a dovecot mailserver. One of the clients I use is a Mac Laptop. Recently I upgraded from Mountain Lion (10.8) to Mavericks (10.9). Under 10.8 it worked fine. On 10.9 it syncs up when I invoke the client, but after a while stops getting updates. Most of my mail clients are on Linux (thunderbird) or Android (K9) and I admit that several run against my very large INBOX simultaneously. The
