Configuring APC Smart-UPS 2200 on two computers
Charles and Tim - I actually had 192.168.123.1 3493 initially since that's what I thought was correct but it didn't work - don't remember the exact error and I'm not near the hardware right now to check it. I don't believe I checked 0.0.0.0 3493. I will try both again when I get a chance and reply with a better update. Thanks for the quick reply! Shade On Tue, Mar 25,

performance problem ???
Hi, I got a similar problem with my test configuration. I am using share drives from my AMD Athlon XP 1600+ / 512 DDR RAM running with NT4 workstation and my linux server is a Slackware 8.0 with kernel 2.4.18 and Samba 2.2.4 running on a Pentium 166 MMX / 128 RAM / U160 40Gb SCSI disk. My problem is a bit different. I get well a lot of performance but my connections often break. So I can well

Soon as I get back to that computer I will let you know which kernel version. Both were just recently installed, Fedora was installed specifically for this actually, though updates have been applied. I've tried it with other USB ports already across 5 different machines. I've also swapped out the USB cable for another one that I knew worked fine. I'll see what I can do about

All, We think we found something that is causing the problem but as of right now we are unsure as to why it might be causing the issue. Recently I had to restart testing this to figure it out and for some odd reason I wasn't able to reproduce it with any system but our own custom system. I then noticed that in ups.conf I did not set the pollinterval, we normally set it to 15, so I set it to

Anonymous rsync server on LAN
I'm trying to set up a back-up file server (192.168.123.3) that will rsync files from the main production file server (192.168.123.4). The production file server is set up to run rsync --daemon, and I know it is doing so because on my backup server I can execute rsync 192.168.123.4:: and get the list of modules as follows: etc home samba Here's my /etc/rsyncd.conf file uid =

"Can't install ... as no transaction" from PackageKit (CentOS 6)
Hello again, Does anyone have any idea what the following message in the package installer - gpk-install-local-file - is supposed to mean? Can't install /tmp/mail-notification-4.0-3.el5.x86_64.rpm as no transaction (Under "More details" in the "Local install failed" popup.) This is something I got while trying to set up a "mail notification" icon - refer to

repoview comparable alternative
It seems that in the context of EL8 the tool RepoView that creates static HTML pages out of a yum repository is obsolet because of the missing yum python modules (EL8 comes with dnf). Further more it seems also be abandoned [*] and I do not expect to appear in EPEL8. Does someone uses a similar tool to generate browseable repo HTML pages? Charles, We did notice that there were two categories. Is there a way if we could determine if it is colliding? We do have a USB analyzer so I'll see if that can be used to determine if the UPS is disconnecting due to inactivity on the bus. Thanks!
