Tripp-Lite OmniVS1500XL
All, I recently purchased a Tripp-Lite OmniVS1500XL and am running NUT on a Centos-based system. Based on the compatibility list I specified the tripplite_usb driver. When I query the unit I get: [root@chryxus ~]# upsc UPS@localhost battery.voltage.nominal: 24 driver.name: tripplite_usb driver.version: 2.0.3-pre2 driver.version.internal: 0.6 input.voltage.nominal: 120

Tripp Lite OMNIVS1500XL Unknown protocol
Good afternoon, I'm trying without much success to monitor a Tripp Lite OMNIVS1500XL using NUT. I checked the compatibility list and saw that this UPS is supported by tripplite_usb. The system is running Debian Stable, but I've downloaded NUT 2.0.3 and compiled from source since the packaged 2.0.1 doesn't include tripplite_usb. I compiled --with-user=nut. My first attempt at

Tripp Lite OMNIVS1000 USB driver
There is a branch (Tripp_Lite_Omni) in CVS for the Tripp Lite OMNI USB driver that I have been working on. I think it covers both the OMNIVS1000 and the OMNIVS1500XL, but I do not have one of the latter units to test. If you have one of these, and want to do some testing, please check out the branch and let me know if you run across any problems. I also occasionally make tarball snapshots; email

Tripp-Lite SMART1500LCDT
I've made some progress getting this Tripplite to work: http://gathman.org/2016/07/30/Standard_Schmandard/ Basically, plug it into a USB hub that actually implements USB2.0, then power cycle the port when it hangs. It does seem to be a hardware problem with the USB controller. On 05/24/2016 09:06 AM, Charles Lepple wrote: > On May 22, 2016, at 10:18 AM, Stuart Gathman wrote: >> I

Tripp Lite G1000U (0x2007)
Hello, I'm new to the list, new to NUT, but not new to Unix-likes. I could use some help getting NUT to talk to my Tripp Lite G1000U. Searching Google for "Tripp Lite G1000U" returns exactly two hits at this writing, so that may not be a good sign. ;-) It may just be rebranded for sale through this source (Costco). Externally, the G1000U looks much like the SMART1000LCD: an amber

Tripp Lite SU5000RT3U
Hi, I ported the serial tripplite.c driver to support the non-PDC USB models. It's a bit of a mess, but this is partially due to not getting any public documentation from Tripp Lite regarding these models. What you see below is an attempt to parse the debug variables based on what we know from other models. On May 7, 2018, at 3:33 PM, Michael <fax12345 at gmail.com> wrote: > >

Tripp Lite OMNIVS1500XL, tripplite_usb, Error reading {L, S, B} value
Hi, I'm working with svn trunk rev 815, testing tripplite_usb with this model. I haven't gotten far in my testing, but thought I'd notify the list of this error message. Is this message of any consequence, and is it worthwhile for me to continue testing prior to resolving this? I am happy to help debug any driver issues, so please let me know if I can be of assistance. My platform

Tripp-Lite SMART1500XL
I've having no success trying to use the tripplite driver to communicate with a Tripp-Lite SMART1500XL via the serial port. I'm using the cable that was included with the UPS. The tripplite driver simply returns "Failed - giving up..." after 20 seconds. I have verified that the tripplite driver is sending ":W" out the serial port. I am able to use Tripp-Lite's

Offer of Tripplite OMNIVS1500XL to official nut developer
Hi all, I gave up on a Tripplite OMNIVS1500XL due to it failing to work on the version of Nut in FreeNAS (and having experienced numerous issues on Debian Jessie as well due to incomplete/unknown protocol elements causing USB problems and Debian Wheezy doesn't even recognize the device). Since the issue is likely lack of information (i.e. unknown protocol) I'm not sure my offer of device

Tripp-Lite SMART1500LCDT
I bought this UPS to use with NUT. I've used Belkin, APC, CyberPower, Best, Powerware upses with NUT on dozens of servers beginning with RHEL3. http://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-Display-Protection-SMART1500LCDT/dp/B009TZTGWK Since this was advertised as USB HID, I didn't expect any problems. Bad idea (should have gotten the Cyberware with somewhat less runtime). Initially, it seems to

OMNIVS1500XL and FreeBSD
I'm running FreeBSD 6.2 with Nut 2.0.5 installed from ports... I have a TrippLite OmniVS1500XL plugged in, but I'm having little luck with the tripplite_usb module. I have already built and booted a new kernel with UHID disabled so that libusb can grab /dev/ugen0. At first I was able to get the following out of the driver: # USB_DEBUG=5 /usr/local/libexec/nut/tripplite_usb -u root

Tripp Lite OMNI1000LCD UPS (USB)
Hello NUT-UPSUSERS, I would just like to try and help other and indicate that I was able to use the development trunk and get the Tripp Lite OMNI1000LCD UPS (USB) working with the newhidups drivers on Gentoo Linux. The one that is currently available at many local Costco stores and online. In case others need to replicate, I've attempted to document my steps over here.

Some FreeBSD tips (was: OMNIVS1500XL and FreeBSD)
Hello all, I just wanted to dump some info here for the archives. Here's the original thread for reference: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsuser/2007-March/002403.html Charles Lepple did a tremendous amount of work to get my TrippLite USB working on FreeBSD 6.2. I'm running an svn version (nut-2.1.0-r879) to pick up his changes to tripplite_usb. So far, it is
