/var/state not accessible
Hi, I was trying to hack the /etc/rc.d/init.d/halt script under RH 9.0 in a way to achieve a clean shutdown: - commanding the RAID arrays to readonly mode - turning off my hardware watchdog, ... etc. See details below. At the end of all this preparation, and very close to the last lines of the halt script, I would then issue: 1. /usr/bin/belkinunv -x wait /dev/ttyS0 2. (OR, with a smart ups:

Battlefield 2 & Battlefield 2142 : startup resolution issue
Hi I am trying to get Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 to launch under Kubuntu 10.04 & Wine 1.3.6. I'm using an Nvidia 8800 GTX 768Mb GPU with Nvidia blob driver 260.19.12. Anyway launching BF2142 (retail copy, patched to v1.5) gives me the following error (2x) in the console output streams: Code: ... err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode found 800x600x32

GeForce 8800GT fan control
I have a GeForce 8800GT that I am trying to lower the fan speed on. I can change the fan RPM from high to not-as-high but I want more control over it. It is too loud and it was quieter with the blob. Maybe the temps are too high to make it quieter. # echo 1 >/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/0000:01:00.0/i2c-6/6-002e/pwm1_enable # sensors fam15h_power-pci-00c4 Adapter: PCI adapter power1:

data frame subsets?
Hello, I am trying to create data frame subsets based on binned temperature data. I have code working to create the bins (d.1 and d.2), but it takes two steps, I was wondering if I could merge into one step. maxbw minimum
The minimum is set at 1200Kbits/second. However, in testing, if I set that for a VNIC, the domU gets no traffic at all (maybe the occassional packet). Is the minimum too low? If I set a maximum of 2000Kbits/second, I get this from nicstat (expecting around 250Kbytes/s total: Time Int rKB/s wKB/s rPk/s wPk/s rAvs wAvs %Util Sat 04:35:38 xvm15_0 146.6 5.32 102.0

invalid 'row.names' length error when running scatterplots or plot in R Commander
Hello, I teach statistics and use R Commander for teaching. I have 2 students out of 169 that can't get scatterplots or plot to work. I have had them update packages, restart R/R Commander/their computers and even reinstall R/R Commander. One is using Windows 7 on a new pc and the other is a pc user (not sure the OS). They are both using R2.11.1 and R Commander 1.6-0. The data look like
