RE Addition to the list of supported UPS
Hi Peter,
I've fwded your info to the list, as other people might be interested in.
I've also logged a patch tracker so that you can follow its inclusion:
https://alioth.debian.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=302882&group_id=30602&atid=411544
As a side note, there is a work underway to merge the similar driver

into one named megatec. This one

RE Network UPS Tools - ID string
Hi John,
I've forwarded your info to the nut development list, and to Carlos who's
in charge of the megatec driver.
This one, which is only available in the subversion development tree,
and soon in 2.0.4, will replace the fentonups driver.
So you're encouraged to test it and report back.

APC UPS: replacement battery always triggers shutdown
Arnaud,
I was finally able to get back to this issue and would recommend adding these items to the FAQ #37 about recalibrating the UPS:
1a. It's important that the UPS be at 100% charge before starting the procedure; starting at lower will not work at all, not just produce inaccurate numbers.
? ? ? [I started the procedure when the UPS was at 91% charge. After that it would never report

validating ambient.temperature from APC IEM (AP9618, AP9619) patch
Hi Dmitry and the list,
would you (or anyone owning such a device) be able to validate the below patch:
https://alioth.debian.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=310613&group_id=30602&atid=411542
Most notably, it's about the paths changes:

MGE Ellipse 500 cable config
I have trouble in getting communication work with MGE Ellipse 500. I
bought it second hand and I don't have the cable for it.
How do I know if it's the Serial or USB model? The serial number of the
unit is: 769B16015. I suspect it is the serial version as the label next
to the RJ11 stands "com port", but I can't be 100% sure.

monotonic clock
Hi,
I've submitted a patch to the Alioth tracker but thought to give a heads up
here as well, I have an issue with nut not working when the clock is moved
backwards. I provided a patch[1] to use clock_gettime with CLOCK_MONOTONIC
to fix this, based on comments from Charles Lepple I made a few changes and
it can be seen in a git branch I created at [2].
Let me know what you think.

Julius: I just realized after committing Michal's patch that you have
a more comprehensive patch on the tracker that approaches this piece
of code differently.
We can go ahead and apply the following patch to the trunk if you
still think it's relevant:

Tr : NUT patches
Hi Peter,
I've forwarded your mail to upsdev as it will be of interest for several
people that are working on it. As I'm also on vacation (again) for a
week and 1/2 as of this evening, I don't think I'll have the time for it
before I get back....
I've not yet audited the patches, but these are queued on the
Alioth tracker:
