Help with newhidups subdriver for Dynex UPS
Hello everyone! If this message was posted twice, my apologies. I'm having issues with my webmail today... I am using the testing version of NUT from SVN at changeset 582. I have successfully created a stub for newhidups driver for my Dynex DX-800U UPS, but I am completely lost on the customization of it. I've followed the hid-subdrivers.txt instructions and I understand I need to

2.0.3-pre
Gentlemen, I just had time to start looking at the latest version of the development tree. I have built the apc-hid part of newhidups from the development tree and I am in the process of testing it with my "Back-UPS ES 650". As of right now I have incorporated the attached changes to apc-hid.c. I have been using the corresponding changes together with some changes from Arnaud with the

newhidups for APC Back-UPS ES 650
Gentlemen, Please note that what follows pre-dates the latest changes from Arnaud (just thought someone might want to look at these before I can test the latest!). When running newhidups with -D -D -D I saw messages that looked like errors, and it took me a while to understand that they were not really errors. I therefore added two new entries in apc-hid.h, and I modified a couple of diagnistic

newhidups output for Geek Squad GS1285U
This took a long time because I had problems with my system. After I reloaded my operating system several times I found I had a bad memory module. Here is the output from newhidups for my Geek Squad GS1285U. It just kept repeating until I hit ctl-z. I think that this means nut will work for this ups. My computer is not powered by the ups yet. I did not want it to be powered down by accident.

Another HID USB UPS
Gentlemen, I have a new HID USB device, that seems to be quite similar to the currently supported APC HID UPS. I append the dump-tree output, and would much appreciate advice on how to proceed. Certain entries for the current device are not available, but maybe there are some replacements that could be used. This may of course require a new table in apc-hid.h, and I would prefer not to do this

more on 2.0.3-pre
Gentlemen, I have now had a chance to run some initial tests of my changes to apc-hid.c of the current development tree. Running newhipups and inspecting the -DDDD output seems to indicate that with the fix below everything seems to work as expected. However, I have not yet shut my system in order to take the UPS out of action so that I can do my various tests with a lightbulb load. I still hope

newhidups with APC Smart-UPS 1500
I tested your fix (newhidups -DDD /dev/null) using both and APC Back-UPS 350 an APC Smart-UPS RT 2000 XL. No more segmentation fault due to the fixed-size array. ~Jacob -----Original Message----- From: nut-upsdev-bounces@lists.alioth.debian.org [mailto:nut-upsdev-bounces@lists.alioth.debian.org] On Behalf Of Peter Selinger Sent: Monday, October 16, 2006 12:12 PM To: Schmier, Jacob Cc: NUT

Can't get CyberPower UPS to work with Raspberry Pi 4
I've searched the listserv archive, to no avail, so I hope I'm not duplicating a previous problem. I am anxious to get this working, so I'm open to uninstalling what I have and starting over. One note which may not be meaningful is that this UPS pre-dates the Raspberry Pi I've got connected to it, and I used to use it with the CyberPower software, which requires logging in with a

Incorrect Values From usbhid-ups
I recently purchased a CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD UPS as a replacement UPS for a headless server running Slackware 14.1 with the 3.10.7 kernel. I then downloaded the NUT 2.7.1 tarball on the server and following the directions installed the software. The installation went well and the UPS will shutdown the server using the forced down test and then it powers back up as it should. The

Nut-upsuser Digest, Vol 184, Issue 8
Thanks again for your patience. I'm still learning how to deal with systemctl myself (and starting from, I'm sure, a much lower level of understanding), so if I've neglected to restart or start something, please let me know. I made the change to /etc/nut/upsd.conf. I restarted upsdrvctl, which reported back: Network UPS Tools - UPS driver controller 2.7.4 Network UPS Tools - Generic

Setting UPS values can be confusing
Windows 7 Pro x64, NUT 2.6.5-4 (interim release) Product: Back-UPS RS 1200 FW:8.g3 .D USB FW:g3 Setting UPS values can be confusing. For example, battery.charge.low and battery.runtime.low. Using upsrw, the values will be retained after restarting the OS, but not if the UPS is turned off/restarted. In the driver log (below), it looks like the values are obtained from the UPS, but if I set

UPS reboots with APC UPS
Hello, I have been using NUT for a short period of time and have some questions regarding the UPS reboot signal that I can't figure out. Have tried some googling and reading the DOCs but I am struggling to understand how some variables / things are supposed to work, so would appreciate any help with any of the following questions. I am running NUT on standalone mode on a linux machine

Problems with config of newhidups
Hi all, I just downloaded, built and installed nut-2.0.4-pre2. I have an APC Smart ups 3000 connected via a usb cable. I have compiled and installed the usb drivers. I installed the libhidups and libhid.usermap per the README. I have the following ups.conf: [APC-3000-ups] driver = newhidups port = auto desc = "APC smart 3000" When I try to start the driver I get the

UPS shuts down on NUT boot with low battery [APS Back-UPS RS 550G]
Thanks for the reply. However these two FAQ are unfortunately not describing the situation. - The first issue is that NUT switches off the UPS upon reboot on low battery (not that it dies because of low battery) - The second issue is that the UPS does not recognise being online again (not that the PC does not restart) Sent from my iPhone > On 11 Jun 2019, at 02:03, Charles Lepple <clepple

CyberPower Value 2200E-GP
I've just set up a CyberPower Value 2200E-GP on a system running Lucid AMD64, with the current NUT package via apt-get, and it seems to be working fine for me with the usbhid-ups driver, so I guess it can go in the HCL? I'm using the system to host several virtual servers under KVM, and to make things simple I set it up to hibernate rather than shutdown, that way all the guest OS
