ownership of pid directory
Hello all,
Some time ago, you all were very helpful in getting nut running on an OpenBSD
system, using--for what it's worth--a CyberPower 1500AVR.
So I finally got my FreeBSD system's UPS, also a CyberPower 1500AVR, within
reach of its serial cable and I'm trying to get nut running here. I'm going
nuts.
Basically, I copied the OpenBSD configuration over to the FreeBSD system

What do your configuration files look like? Setting MINSUPPLIES to 2 should work. You can run upsmon with a debug level of 3 or greater, and it will print the current and minimum "power value", which is what determines

Accentuated characters issue when receiving attributes from "samba user syncpasswords"
I receive stdin input from "samba user syncpasswords" in my python script.
The user is created with ' Active Directory Users and Computers', and have
some accentuated characters in their givenName and/or familyName (sn)
When parsing the diff, the CN reads of, but weird characters appears in the
attributes instead of the right name :

FLAC: compressing data

Actually, there is no reason it should not run on the data fine, if presented
to it appropriately. Input data is a binary stream, and any input will work
correctly. With music data, most algorithms rely on the fact

NUT 2.8.1-3 " Can't claim USB device [051d:0002]@0/0: Entity not found" using usbhid-ups
Hello,
I was thinking about what could be going wrong here, and a few ideas pop
up:
1) If you installed NUT from packaging, there should have been no need to
add OS groups/users manually. There is a valid use-case for running
different daemons under different accounts, as long as they talk over
network and access same files or UNIX sockets at best by sharing a group
for that, but it does need

Hi Jim,
Thanks for your help. I'll respond in the same order as you did:
1. Unfortunately, I did "chown" stuff to these created users... Since
the other three responses don't seem to be what you're looking for (but
that's only my uninformed interpretation), I suppose the problem lies here?
Is there a number of files/directories that I should

NUT Client shuts down when performing runtime calibration on APC UPS
Here are the results from the output of upsc under different conditions from my Debian Test system with NUT 2.7.2 :
Normal: ups.status: OL
No wall power: ups.status: OB
Runtime calibration (started from AP9630 web interface): ups.status: OB CAL
So at this stage there is a difference!
I then connected to my QNAP and set the UPS settings on the web interface to "Shutdown server if power

has anybody gotten horde working?
Hi,
Horde seems to be quite the problem child. It sorta kinda looks like
session handling is entirely broken.
kronolith will let me in, but not for long. Then I get "invalid token"
and am bounced back to the home screen.
imp won't let me in at all. This behavior is completely broken: I get
a log in screen and a message in /var/log/messages about not being
authorized for IMP (which

need simpler directions on user authentication
Hi all,
My situation is this: I have postfix running on a Linode under Arch
Linux. A recent upgrade to dovecot broke the configuration. Now I get
"Couldn't drop privileges: User is missing UID (see mail_uid setting)."
I do not want virtual users. I do not particularly want SQL or LDAP. I
do have multiple domains. I do use Maildir. I already have SSL
certificates for the server
