installing dovecot on Mac OS X
Hi, I'm trying to install dovecot on Mac OS X, and I'm having trouble to make it run. If someone could point me to what I'm doing wrong or suggest some documentation to read, I'd be very glad (I've search the wiki for Mac OS X specific documentation, but could not find any). I installed dovecot using darwinports. The version installed is 0.99.10.5. (It's running well

Double quote scp?
I've noticed that I need to double quote file names in scp: > scp gaelicWizard:"Desktop/Picture 1.pdf" . > scp: Desktop/Picture: No such file or directory > scp: 1.pdf: No such file or directory Why is this necessary? Wouldn't it be much better to have scp communicate with its server-side counterpart with null-terminated strings, not to have the server interpret the

upgrading Mysql 5.0.95
Hi All, I'm getting things ready to upgrade my aging installation of MySQL 5.0.95 on my CentOS 5 LAMP server. With the impending EOL date of 3.31 fast approaching my sense of doom and urgency is increasing. I see that the necessary packages are available in @base and @updates - mysql51 and mysql55 respectively but from all the information I've read on the matter so far I'm left with

Best practices in developing package: From a single file
Mehmet, That is a loaded topic, not unlikely other topics preoccupying us these days. There is package.skeleton() in base R as you already mentioned. It drove me bonkers that it creates packages which then fail R CMD check, so I wrote a wrapper package (pkgKitten) with another helper function (kitten()) which calls the base R helper and then cleans up it---but otherwise remains faithful to it.

Unable to join Windows 2008 R2 server DC to Samba DC
I’m unable to successfully join a Windows 2008 R2 server DC to my Samba4 domain. I’ve followed the steps on the wiki of joining a Server 2008 R2 DC to a Samba domain. After I reboot the domain controller, I receive a blue screen in regards to a corrupt AD database. I’ve tried Samba v4.6.7 and Samba 4.9.0pre1. Prior to the reboot, I see the following three events on the Windows DC: ----- Attempt

Some (lack of) answers regarding the wakeup call application...
Since I only seem to get questions, and no feedback, from the Wiki page, I'll ask here. There seems to be no lack of opinions here... I have a working wakeup call system on my home * system. The architecture is something I'm not perfectly happy with, though. There are two AGI scripts, written in Perl, which handle (a) scheduling, confirming, and cancelling a wakeup call, and (b) the

mount type and ensure => present on OS X
Hello all. There is some strange thing going on with our OS X clients. We have created a package which is run via SystemStarter. What it does? It parses /etc/fstab and mounts the NFS directories mentioned there. This is needed since we want to have static mounts and the NetInfo-automounter combination does not do static mounts (even with ttl=0 set for the mount, which is supposed to do a

filter question
Hi, I've been trying to come up with a way to do the following operation. I have a /home folder and I want to transfer only the /mail/ folders inside the home folder along with their parent folders. So, if I have the following files: /home/bob/document.doc /home/bob/pr0n/pr0nFile /home/bob/mail/file1 /home/bob/mail/spam/viagra /home/mike/kitten.jpg

Filter files received on scp server
Hey, So, I would be looking at type A. Forgive me if my understanding of how OpenSSH operates is not reflective of reality. I am assuming that, the file transfer is happening somewhat logically, with a name being known, content written, blah blah. >From reading scp.c, it appears that, the client end at least knows the file name so I must assume the server end must be given it. I am hoping to

Drive Failing
I got an email from smartd yesterday with the following error: SMART Health Status: SERVO IMPENDING FAILURE SEEK ERROR RATE TOO HIGH [asc=5d,ascq=43] I understand this means the drive is probably going to fail. This device is /dev/sda and is part of /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00 Is it possible to replace the single failing drive and if so, what would be the steps so that data isn't lost.

Functionality Questions
Hello, I am looking at implementing Asterisk for a project I'm working on. I need to authenticate a user against a database, and implement CC processing; shouldn't be a problem with PHP-AGI. In addition, I need to do several other things. After a user has been authenticated, they will be prompted to be sent to a queue. Before they're put in the queue, they need the option

3-stage bootstrap build bots?
Do any of the current build bots for llvm.org perform 3-stage bootstraps with file comparison of the stage2 and stage3 object files and generated headers? On x86_64-apple-darwin16 using the fink projects llvm packaging methodology (crafted by David Fang), I am seeing non-deterministic file comparison failures in current trunk that goes back as far as r296837.
