the worst scenario of ext3 after abnormal powerdown
Hi, I have seen and heard many cases of ext3 corrupted after abnormal powerdown (e.g. missing all the files in one directory). yes, UPS should help, but wonder what kind of worst scenario will ext3 present after powerdown. messed up meta data has been seen in many cases, for example, the in-direct block of one inode contains garbage, which causes the automatic fsck failed to work and user has

powerdown problem on XEN
Hi guys, I have a problem with powering down my system under the XEN hypervisor. System details are as follows: gentoo linux, X86_64 XEN version 4.2.2 linux hardened kernel 3.9.5 as dom0 Xeon E3 1260L processor (vt-d capable) 32GB ECC RAM which has been thoroughly tested - so should be o.k. when I issue "shutdown -h now" from dom0 the system usually reboots instead of turning off

mercury smart1200 pro serial powerdown problem
Hello * Trying to get above serial UPS to work gives my some troubles. With upstype=21 [CP=RTS] [OL=CTS] [LB=-DCD] [SD=RTS+DTR] and/or upstype=4 [CP=RTS] [OL=CTS] [LB=-DCD] [SD=-RTS] I do get OL OB LB ok, but shutting down the UPS does not work. Re: libvirt guests graceful shutdown upon hosts powerdown/reboot
should have mentioned, apologies, suspend is the graceful shutdown of the guest I was thinking of. Guest is win2k8, why would it not suspend? libvirt guests graceful shutdown upon hosts powerdown/reboot
hi everybody by an assumption I expected VM guests to be shut down/off gracefully when the host is being powered down or rebooted, but this does not seem to be the case so I wonder.. Am I missing some libvirt components/packages ? Or my assumption is incorrect and guests have to be shutdown manually? it's all SL 7 and guest are M$ regards P.

FreeBSD installation procedure (updated)
The purpose of this posting is to summarize the FreeBSD installation procedure from the beginning till the very end. 1. Follow the instructions provided in the How-To prepared by Thierry Thomas (http://people.freebsd.org/~thierry/nut_FreeBSD_HowTo.txt). Please note the following: a) if you are using an USB device, as of NUT 2.2 usbhid-ups completely replaces the legacy hidups driver and provides

NUT MGE Pulsar Ellipse Premium 800: Changed NUT rw variables?
Hello all, I've got an MGE Pulsar Ellipse Premium 800 powering a couple of FreeBSD systems. Driver used is mge-shut, I don't know what the new mge-shut driver offers, but I follow the "if it works, don't fix it" dogma here. :) I also had a nut server installed on the master, with the /usr/local/etc/rc.d/nut script slightly modified to include a couple of upsrw commands

PowerWalker UPS - Re-branded Mustek ?
Hello ! first off, thank you all for making this piece of software. from what i have seen so far this seems to be a really mature and advanced tool for all sorts of UPS models ! I`d like to tell that I own a UPS which isn`t listed on the compatibility list, but seems to be compatible. It is a PowerWalker - see this at

can't make mustek powermust 600usb work
Disclaimer: I've setup APC UPS monitoring and it works... ... but when it comes to mustek powermust 600usb (connected via com-port), I can't make it work. Got NUT installed via aptitude in ubuntu feisty and a basic setup, exactly the same as for the apc, except for the name of the ups and the corresponding section of ups.conf -- [mustek] driver = megatec port = /dev/ttyS1

PowerMust 500
Hi folks, has anyone been successful in getting a Mustek PowerMust 500 to talk to nut? All my attempts (tried "mustek" and "powermust" as drivers) have been unsuccessful so far. Thanks for any clues. Sascha -- http://yoyodyne.ath.cx

RE Addition to the list of supported UPS
Hi Peter, I've fwded your info to the list, as other people might be interested in. I've also logged a patch tracker so that you can follow its inclusion: https://alioth.debian.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=302882&group_id=30602&atid=411544 As a side note, there is a work underway to merge the similar driver (mustek, powermust, ...) into one named megatec. This one

Re: F6H500ukUNV working with fentonups driver
After trying the 'powermust' driver I can confirm it works well with the F6H500ukUNV ups from Belkin. I reported my tests but by accident posted them directly to Carlos and not the mailing list (sorry Carlos). Anyway brief summary of the powermust driver with the F6H500ukUNV; Detects Online state. Reports the Battery charge correctly. Detects On Battery State. Detects Low Battery State.

Mustek
Hi all, I'm thinking buying a UPS Mustek PowerMust 600 USB to shutdown a Linux box on case of power failure. Can I use nut with this UPS without problems? I checked the page http://www.vamos-wentworth.org/upsinfo.html and was only something (incomplete) about Powermust 400 (information from November 2005). Could this be already changed? Thanks in advance.

Can't select phoenix as subdriver in megatec_usb
Hello, I'm working on getting nut using a Powermust Office 650 USB USV. Using today's trunk megatec_usb detects its vendorid 0665 productid 5161 but uses the agiler driver for it which apparently does not work (timeout...). I think this device is using that USB-to-serial chip but a different protocol behind. I got the phoenix subdriver working with the device but I had to extend

New Mustek UPS model working
Hello, first of all I'd like to thank all the NUT developers for their gorgeous work and for their efforts to make NUT the best and most complete UPS management software I've ever seen (seriously). Secondarily I'd like to help the NUT project as far as my help is needed, I'm not a programmer (by now...) but I would like to help somehow anyway. I have 3 UPS from the same
