Hello, I’m trying to port a project up to 4.0 and I’m seeing the following error: In file included from /Users/jaredcarlson/Projects/llvm-4.0.0.src/include/llvm/ADT/StringRef.h:13: /Users/jaredcarlson/Projects/llvm-4.0.0.src/include/llvm/ADT/STLExtras.h:139:13: error: no type named 'type' in 'std::__1::result_of<std::__1::pointer_to_unary_function<llvm::DSNode *, llvm::DSNode

Get segfault with ModulePass
Hi, don't know if this is the right list. Please post a better place, otherwise. I'm currently writing a LLVM ModulePass and ran into strange segfaults or endless loops within LLVM. My main question is, if this is a programming error or API misuse from me or a LLVM bug? Here is some minimal code, that triggers the bug: ---------------- class DebugPass : public ModulePass { public:

Conflicts with custom passes
Hi list, I am making a simple custom pass that inserts print function calls for each instruction, so that compiled programs print out all llvm instructions on the dynamic path. For example, (conceptually) printf(“%s”, “x = x + 1”); // inserted code x = y + 1; // original code But it seems that there are some conflicts with existing optimization paths. When I compile a program with the custom

Conflicts with custom passes
You are right. Thanks! I fixed that one as well as some other issues. I built LLVM-8 with Debug + no-rtti. But it now has the following error: Stack dump: 0. Program arguments: clang-8 -cc1 -triple x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu -emit-llvm -disable-free -main-file-name time-1.7.c -mrelocation-model static -mthread-model posix -mdisable-fp-elim -fmath-errno -masm-verbose -mconstructor-aliases

Conflicts with custom passes
Hi Tim, Thanks for your suggestion! I built LLVM with Debug and tried this with my custom pass. But it has the following error error: unable to load plugin '../../trace-extractor/build/TracePass.so': '../../trace-extractor/build/TracePass.so: undefined symbol: _ZTIN4llvm10ModulePassE’ Originally I used a builtin Clang in the system and it does not produce this issue. [LLVMdev] Storing values in global variables
Hello, I have written a pass that works nicely if I use it with the opt tool, as proposed by the "Writing an LLVM Pass" tutorial. Now I want to execute this pass directly when clang is executed. I use the technique described here: http://homes.cs.washington.edu/~asampson/blog/clangpass.html. The pass is loaded and executed, when I run clang with the right command line. But clang

The problem seems to be the argument iterator. Do you know some way to

[RFC] Parallelizing (Target-Independent) Instruction Selection
Hi, Though there exists lots of researches on parallelizing or scheduling optimization passes, If you open up the time matrices of codegen(llc -time-passes), you'll find that the most time consuming task is actually instruction selection(40~50% of time) instead of optimization passes(10~0%). That's why we're trying to parallelize the (target-independent) instruction selection process

Help with a pass
Hi all, I was able to create a pass following [1]. Now goal is amend the pass and try to dump the call graph. I think I have properly amended the source extending my pass from CallGraphSCCPass but unfortunately every time I run it, it crashes. I tried with llvm-6 and llvm-7. I notice that if I change EP_EarlyAsPossible to anything else it does not crash but I don't see the expected string

[LLVMdev] A basicblock iterator bug in llvm
Dear developers: When I am doing basicblock pass, I meet a bug: there is an iterator "I" in a basicblock, and it is not pointing to the first instruction in this basicblock. However, "I--;" will fail by an assertion. The basic block ("I" is pointing to the second instruction) in test.ll: bb: ; preds = %bb1 %1 = call i32 (i8*, ...)* @printf(i8* noalias

[LLVMdev] Re: Creating Release 1.7 Branch at 1:00pm PDT
The various intrinsic assert/crashes should all be fixed on mainline CVS (they are PR733, which I just fixed). The only ones that I'm wary of are: XPASS: /proj/llvm/build/../llvm/test/Regression/CFrontend/2004-02-20- StaticRedeclare.c.tr FAIL: /proj/llvm/build/../llvm/test/Regression/CFrontend/2005-12-04- DeclarationLineNumbers.c: In the former case, I would guess that the test isn't

Branches have been created. You are free to checkin to cvs head again. I'll send mail once I have the prerelease tar balls up. Please continue to review and revise the documentation. I can fold this into the release later. Thanks, Tanya On Thu, 13 Apr 2006, Tanya Lattner wrote: > > I will be creating the release branch at 1:00pm PDT. Please refrain from > checking in from
