Revive support for HP PowerTrust?
Hi everyone.
I'm currently looking for a monitoring program for a HP PowerTrust UPS
(A2998A) for Linux.
It seems that nut supported these UPSs until version 1.4.3. What was the
reason for the driver being removed from nut? Are there plans to
reintegrate it?
I was playing around with the UPS and put the results here:

Unitek iZi UPS 525
Hi everybody,
I've got an Unitek iZi UPS 525 with a serial interface. The supplied cable
looks fairly simple: RX->RX , TX->TX and GND->GND. Using this cable and
Minicom with 2400 8N1 I'm able to issue commands to the UPS using the
"Megatec Protocol" http://www.networkupstools.org/protocols/megatec.html so
I know the UPS is fairly "intelligent" :-) and the

Hi Al,
I'm currently not much available, so I've fwded your mail to the nut list...
You might get more reactivity this way...

abusing nut ups to do temperature shutdown WHILE monitoring UPS'es
Hi
I am thinking about using the existing NUT software to tell the slave
servers
to shutdown if the temperature in the server room becomes too high.
I was thinking of monitoring the temperature on the master NUT server
and
then just letting the slave clients shut down. But the slaves (and
master
server) needs to do a complete power off even though the UPS's does
get 220v power all the

problem with output voltage on a mustek ups
Hi there
I have a Mustek PowerMust 1000 USB using serial port /dev/ttyS0.
I use nut 2.2.1 with the megatec driver on Debian Lenny (testing),
running on an AMD64 X2.
(I was using a Debian Etch as slave, but to keep it simple I turned it off)
My problem is that sometimes the UPS is running OK, but when the
message "UPS is trimming incoming voltage" appears on knutclient (i.e.

PW9120 - Shutdown condition?
Hello.
I have a PW9120 hooked up via a serial cable running NUT 2.0.4.
When running upsc I cant see any parameter that looks like it would trigger a shutdown. Theres is
nothing like "battery.charge.low: 30" or "battery.charge.warning: 30".
I get:
ambient.temperature
battery.(charge|runtime|voltage)
driver.(misc)
input.(misc)

"no longer stale" when disconnected with 2.0.5 newhidups
Hello,
I'm using driver newhidups with APC Back-UPS CS 500. Most things works fine
except the following:
After I disconnect the UPS the upsd write "Data for UPS [apc] is stale -
check driver" in /var/log/messages. In the same second it tells "UPS [apc]
data is no longer stale". This repeats all the time the ups is
disconnected:

Some questions
Hello all NUT users and developers!
Have some questions about nut suite:
1. Does upscmd provide only device-specific commands? Or commands
like shutdown.stayoff are general and good for all ups models?
When i see output of 'upscmd -l' - is this general commands
that supported by given device or this is unique commands of this device?
For example, i have APC SmartUPS-750 and it shows me

usbhid-ups.h: hid_info_t structure
I don't understand how the info_len element from the hid_info_t structure
is used in usbhid-ups. It appears to me that the only use of this element
is now to indicate the length of the string:
> float info_len; /* if ST_FLAG_STRING: length of the string */
The above is clear, if the element is flagged as a string, the size of
this string is put in this variable, so that we can use this in

usbhid-ups and "data stale"
Hello
I'm using nut 2.2.0 on FreeBSD 7.0-RC1. I've got two UPSes (Back-UPS RS
1500) connected to the host, and I often see them to go away. All the
system logs are full of "Poll UPS [ups1 at upshost] failed - Data
stale".
What causes this issue? Is this a known issue, is it going to be fixed?
What farther investigations should I do to get some more info on this
issue?

mge-shut and hardware error on MGE Pulsar Evolution 800
Hello,
My MGE Pulsar Evolution 800 had some hardware troubles (it may be the
batteries according to the manual). The fault was not detected so the
power was cut to the load and nothing appears in the log files.
Arnaud: do you know if the UPS have some way to report this kind of
troubles to the PC so that NUT can handle it with a shutdown sequence ?

probably an faq, but - support for Compaq R3000h ?
I notice from the hardware compatibility list that the XR model is
supported - what are the chances that the older R3000h models are too?
Thanks.

Driver for Ever Net 3000 DPC vs Ever Net 2200 DPC
Hello.
I am trying setup NUT with Ever Net 3000 DPC. All my efforts end with "data stale" error.
I've already set up Ever Net 2200 DPC on Debian Etch.
According to driver documentation, driver I should use for both models is everups.
I've downloaded software provided by producer:
http://www.ever.com.pl/pl/pliki/powersoftplus-0.1.8-x86.tar.gz
In this software drivers for 2200
