Nested instruction patterns rejected by GlobalISel when having registers in Defs
Hi Daniel, Thanks for replying; I was hoping to get in touch with you on this issue. I had a look at how SelectionIDAG does it when generating the matcher table, and it does consider the implicit defs as additional output. Here is the match table generated for the pattern: /* 0*/ OPC_CheckOpcode, TARGET_VAL(ISD::SIGN_EXTEND), /* 3*/ OPC_MoveChild0, /* 4*/ OPC_CheckOpcode,

[LLVMdev] Trouble with virtual registers
I'm having trouble with virtual registers/register allocation in my back-end. Basically the FastRegAlloc pass is generating calls to storeToStackSlot and loadFromStackSlot, in which we build new machine instructions, which are then _not_ processed by the reg allocator. I understand that BuildMI is changing the list of MachInst. that the allocator is iterating over, but we need to have a new

Too much functionality in WINE
Does anyone know of a way to compile a LITE wine - like a zinfandel I guess? I just want to be able to use - wine /mypathto/myprogram.exe. such as --disable-dev --without-notepad --without-ie.... After compiling wine 1.1.13 it works quite well... at least the parts of it that I have tested. There are so many things included that I will never use that basically just take up space. For instance

[LLVMdev] Sporadic "RealOffset <= INT32_MAX && RealOffset >= INT32_MIN" failures with MCJIT on Windows
Hi, We are seeing sporadic crashes since we migrated to MCJIT on Win64. The same tests pass without issues on Mac64 and Linux64. The issue is this assertion failure in RuntimeDyldELF.c: RealOffset <= INT32_MAX && RealOffset >= INT32_MIN I haven't managed to successfully catch the failure in Visual to try and debug it. Any tips on how to make progress? Oh, and we're on

Automatically choose between 32-bit and 64-bit kernel
I've been using syslinux on my own Linux recovery CDs for almost a year now, and in that time I've found it useful to be able to automatically load a 64-bit-capable kernel if the CPU supports it. I'd like to share my efforts and submit this patch for syslinux-3.31. It adds a new config file keyword, 'default64', which overrides the default image if a 64-bit CPU is detected.

Matrix dimnames crash (PR#13361)
In Windows XP, the matrix() function crashes the program when 'dimnames' is an empty list: matrix(1:4, nrow=2, dimnames=list()) # R has encountered a problem and needs to close ... This bug is specific to WinXP, as Linux64 handles this situation more gracefully: matrix(1:4, nrow=2, dimnames=list()) Error in matrix(1:4, nrow = 2, dimnames = list()) : invalid type

[LLVMdev] Sporadic "RealOffset <= INT32_MAX && RealOffset >= INT32_MIN" failures with MCJIT on Windows
So it appears that we get about half the crashes with the large code model. The rest are crashing in the same way. It could either mean that large code model still takes that crashing codepath and that the number of crashes only went down by chance, or that in one place in the flow, large code model is not matched to mean ELF::R_X86_64_PC64. I'm digging into this issue further, but any hints

7zip benchmark
Hi, I could try latest 7zip (4.57) on a triple boot machine (Debian SID i386, x86_64 and native Windows XP SP2), and found something surprising in the results : amd64 at 2400MHz linux32 -> 1814 linux64 -> 1946 win32 -> 2004 So performance is much better in Linux 64 bit than in 32 bit, while both are slower than native windows system. Is it normal, I mean does anyone else obtain

r-forge build failure bafflement
I am attempting to build a package on r-forge and running into a weird error. I have been in correspondence with the R-forge admins and am turning to r-devel on the remote chance that someone might have a guess as to what is going wrong or a suggestion about further diagnostics/experiments I could try ... The package seems to build fine on my system(s) with R CMD build --compact-vignettes
