APC Back-UPS CS 500 power cycle
Hello, we have a problem using APC Back-UPS CS 500 (connected via USB, usbhid-ups-apc) and UPS-NUT. We've tried different Versions of UPS-NUT (2.2.1 and 2.2.2), including the latest from SVN (28th November 2008). We've also tried apcupsd, which works fine for our requirements, but we don't want use it. What we need is simple: The UPS should turn off after power loss and shutdown

"no longer stale" when disconnected with 2.0.5 newhidups
Hello, I'm using driver newhidups with APC Back-UPS CS 500. Most things works fine except the following: After I disconnect the UPS the upsd write "Data for UPS [apc] is stale - check driver" in /var/log/messages. In the same second it tells "UPS [apc] data is no longer stale". This repeats all the time the ups is disconnected: Jan 25 14:45:03 degpn026w226 kernel: usb

CPU Temprature
Hi; While using xen-3.0.2 with 2.6.16.28 kernel CPU (Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.73GHz) temprature is inreasing up to 104 C (/proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THRM/trip_points reports 105 C is critical for CPU) while idle or no domU working with very low system load, and if i start to use domU, sometimes system freezes or reboots for heat. But the same kernel just without Xen works normally and

Log Monitoring Recomendation
Given my experience in Linux is limited currently, what do you guys use to monitor logs such as 'messages' on your centos servers? I had a hardware failure that happened in between me manually looking (of course...). I would hope it might have a some features to email critical issues etc... Thanks! jlc -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

snmpd log messages
I updated to CentOS 4.5 yesterday and now I am finding the snmpd daemon is logging reams and reams of these messages: May 20 10:40:03 mx01 snmpd[2572]: Connection from - 127.0.0.1 May 20 10:40:03 mx01 snmpd[2572]: transport socket = 12 Is there a way to turn off this useless logging? I am getting these every 5 minutes (every time MRTG updates my MailScanner statistics). So far what I tried

Help to simulate data to model pump failure use case
Hi, I need help to simulate data to model pump's failure. Below is thought process to simulate the data: - For each Pump readings are captured via sensors each minute for period of 3 months. There are 10 pumps in total. - The failure rate or occurrences of event in 3 months for each Pump is defined. i.e Pump1 would fail 3 times in 3 months, Pump2 would fail 2 times in 3 months, etc. - The

Re: apcsmart and ambient data (was: NUT and MonAMI
Hi Paul, Aha - we have both found the same. I am referring to your post from: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsdev/2006-November/001344.html Looking at the source code the temp value is obtained by querying the following OID: #define APCC_OID_IEM_TEMP ".1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.10.2.3.2.1.4.0" notice that the OID ends with .0 (index zero). Well, looking at the

Please help(urgent) - How to simulate transactional data for reliability/survival analysis
A small example data set that illustrates your question will be of great value to those trying to help. This appears to be a transformation that you are wanting to do (timestamp to units of time) so a data representing what you have (dput() is handy for this) and one representing what you want to have with any guidance regarding how to use the other columns in you data set (e.g., the event(0/1)).

php version 4.4 / ez publish
Hi list, is there any repository on this world where I can stick to and update to a stable and hopefully secure and hopefully long supported version 4.4 of php? EZ publish's software requirements as of the current version tells me that it requires php 4.4 which doesn't meet what Centos 4.4 or its upstream provides. For a certain project I want to use ez publish. Is there any solution

Centos 5.2 install problem
Hi, I'm trying a fresh install on a x86_64 (Supermicro X7dbe, 2xIntel Xeon X5450, 8 GB, 3WARE 9650SE-8LPML, 3 disks in RAID 5). The format takes quite long (2,7 TB), that seems to be normal, but then the first boot will not take place, instead the system loops. Any hints? The message follows: Regards Michael Mounting root filesystem. mount: could not find filesystem '/dev/root'

xfs on 5.2 (live cd + dvd)
Hello, I'm planning a server migration and being able to mount xfs file systems with the live cd would be a cruical feature. So before I download and try ... can anyone tell me whether the xfs is included in the 5.2 live cd? Later on I'm planning to install a new system with xen, 3ware 9550SX-4LP and xfs. The xen domains are of course located on xfs partitions. Do these features come

centos-4.4 and xen?
Hi, has somebody already got xen running on centos 4.4? Does the tutorial under http://mark.foster.cc/wiki/index.php/Centos-4_on_Xen also work for version 4.4? I don't have my new server yet in order to try it (it will be delivered at the end of the week), but I'd like to read a little bit about it in advance. Thanks Michael -- Michael Kress, kress at hal.saar.de
