NUT-2.0.5: newhidups on RedHat ES4
Hello everybody, After succeeded in "tuning" nut-2.0.0's hidups and 2.0.3's newhidups on customized Linux kernels, we are now facing a new challenge : trying to install nut-2.0.5 on a RedHat ES4 which is based on a 2.6.9 kernel. I picked up the 2.0.5 source package and follow the INSTALL doc until step 6. So far so good. RH ES4 is managed by udev, therefore I presume we

newhidups... at last.
Hi Arnaud, hi all I wish you all the best for 2006. Enjoying of some less stressed time, I follow your advice, Arnaud, to switch our UPS management on the newhidups driver. ( Enfin ! ;) Our goal is to support (soon) the new MGE ASR ELLIPSE ( and of course also the old ELLIPSE and EXTREME models ). I rebuild the libusb-0.1.10a packages to conform to our installation process. I perform the same

newhidups, usb permissions and Debian
Hi all, I've tried installing NUT from both the Debian packages and the 2.0.4-pre1 source but I'm unable to sort out the USB permissions when using the newhidups driver and an APC XS series UPS. In each case, I'm able to run newhidups as user root but running it as user nut fails: --- as 'nut' # /lib/nut/newhidups -u nut -a apc1 Network UPS Tools: New USB/HID UPS driver 0.28

Cyberpower 900AVR/BC900D newhidups problem
I'm trying to get nut to work with a Cyberpower 900AVR. There are many different products known by this name, but this one has the extra name 'BC900D'. I am told by a cyberpower tech that this one should talk exactly the same USB protocol as the 685AVR, which was recently made to work with newhidups. Unfortunately, when I run the SVN checkout (trunk) of nut-2.1, I get: sstreet

Segmentation fault
Hi! I'm running NUT 2.0.4 and occasionally I get a segfault when starting newhidups and if I don't get a segfault when starting newhidups the process starts eating away at my memory. I sat down trying to genererate -DDDDD debug info, but just because of that I can't get it to do a segfault. So until I can, has things changed in the development version, that might have fixed this?

no USB/HID UPS found?
Hello world; been using nut atop Debian GNU/Linux (sid) for about two years by now, my configuration broke as I upgraded the machine this morning (headin' for kernel 2.6 to have full support for the new GBE NIC included). I read through the UPGRADE.gz instructions provided with the Debian packages and tried to fix things according to the instructions pointed out there, but things still just

Belkin F6C100-UNV + newhidups
Mr. Selinger, I'm CCing you directly since it appears (insofar as I can tell) that you are one of the delelopers for the newhidups driver. This is the third time I've submitted this (hence the CC this time). Hopefully mailman takes it. I've tweaked my SPF records, and I'm hoping that was the problem. My sincere apologies if this has gone through and I just haven't seen it

Centralion Blazer 2000VA USB-HID
Hi again, I've succeeded in compiling the svn trunk with the automake tools and wish to say thank you to Charles Lepple for his help. After fixing some parameters in the hotplug script I can now get access to the UPS on /dev/usb/hiddev0 (I added productid and vendorid of my ups to the usermap). I've decided to try the newhidups driver with -x generic parameter and got this response :

Problem detecting USB/HID UPS
Hi, I am new to this list, so I apologize if I make any mistakes in posting. I am trying to set up nut with my Tripp Lite SMART 1200LCD. I looked on the compatability page, and some Tripp Lite models were supported, so I decided to try out mine. I have tried both USB and serial connections, and neither have worked. I am just wondering if this is a problem with nut supporting my model, or

Hi, I got a Belkin F6C550-AVR UPS today and was trying to get it working with NUT, I used the "hidups" driver and got some data out of it, mainly the following: battery.charge: 100 battery.runtime: 120 driver.name: hidups driver.parameter.port: /dev/usb/hiddev0 driver.version: 2.0.0 ups.mfr: Unknown ups.model: Unknown ups.serial: Unknown ups.status: OL the versions of NUT that I tried
