Disable IMAP for certain users, but not Webmailer
Hi everybody, I'm planning to set up our new mail system using the Dovecot mailbox server. It mostly works fine yet (it's quite straigt forward to set up, I'd say), but there's a thing I haven't been able to find out yet. We provide POP3 access for all users, but want to restrict IMAP access to some of them (because IMAP users tend to leave more messages on the server, thus

Dovecot on different server than MTA
Hi, I'm setting up our new mail system using dovecot as mailbox server. As our goal is to have many many small redundant (virtual) servers as components, for example a mailhub (just relaying mail) and a frontend smtp server (just accepting or denying mail in the first place and then forwarding it to the mailhub), etc. I want to run Dovecot on a different server than the main MTAs. The mailbox

Multiple USVs (how to identify each one)
Hi everybody, we have three MGE UPS'. I've read all the documents I've found, but I haven't got the information I need. All three of them being attached to the same machine I need a way to identify which is wich (all three use the same driver). They power different systems (two of them running windows so that I can't easily setup a network-enabled software on two of them, as

IProute/conntrack issues
Hi everybody, sorry for posting again, however I''ve moved the problem now ;-) After digging a bit deeper, I''ve successfully set up the routing as such, it works for incoming as well as outgoing packets that take the default route. Changing some of the routes using IP works as well. When I mark some outgoing packets in order to send them via another route (the fast leased line

Bug in driver-mysql.c + fix
I tried to use MySQL stored procedures from dovecot: password_query = CALL user_pass_check('%n', '%d', '%w') user_query = CALL user_info('%n', '%d') This failed with the message: User query failed: PROCEDURE imap.user_info can't return a result set in the given context The root of this problem is that mysql_real_connect() needs to be called with

FWMark routing trouble
Hi everybody, I''m trying to set up routing for 2 links to the internet on a box which produces traffic itself (e.g. DNS) and will route all our local traffic. AS one route is quick and expensive and the other one slow and cheap, I want to be able to route packets for some high-level protocols to the second link. If I correctly understood table 3-2 in

Liebert UPS, serial cable questions
Hi, I have a Liebert GXT2-1000RT230 UPS that is connected to my server using a serial cable. I have no idea to what port exactly it is connected so my first question is: how do I find out what /dev/tty** should I use? Do I need to install a device driver for it? Where do I find it? What should I use and how do I do so the server shuts down if the battery level is low? Yes, I'm a newby,

Patch to sshd match
Please find attached a patch against openssh-4.7p1 It extends the Match in sshd_config. The point is that it is sometimes easier (and more secure) to match on NOT something. A criterium may be preceded by ! which inverts the condition, thus: Match !Group sysadmins ForceCommand /usr/bin/sftp forces use of sftp on any user who is not a system administrator. A !! has the

define-based exported virtual resources
Can you use exported virtual resources with custom definitions? As an example, with the following definition: define vr-tester() { file { "/tmp/vr-success.txt": content => ''foobar''; } } this code is working for me: class testme { @vr-tester { "foobar": ; } Vr-tester <||> } but this is not: class testme {

Node and Class unique naming
All I am doing some testing and have a quick question. Do class and node names have to be unique? I define a node: node test { include test } and a class called test. When I run the test node and connect I don''t get an error but no configuration is applied to the node. Is this normal behaviour or a bug? If it''s normal behaviour should Puppet tell you about the

Grandstream * Kingston Comms
All I have just been told by GS support .... BTW, the attendant transfer is OK now and under QA test, will be released in next 2 or 3 weeks. Please keep tuned. Sounds like good news. Also if anyone wants the new firmware it's at http://voip.orbital.net/gs11 As for Kingston Comm's if anyone in the UK is connecting ( E1 ) with them you could do worse than seek the advice of Darren

The puppet model
It seems to me that when you have a master server and a client computer, the master doesn''t really need to know the implementation details of the client computer. It''s kinda like a browser from my perspective...the server is just telling the browser what needs to be drawn on the local side. Does the puppet model work like this? If not, I guess what I read didn''t
