I'm trying to build NUT 2.2.1 on a SunBlade 2000 running Solaris 10

Makefile bug in nut-2.4.3
I'm just in the process of upgrading from nut-2.4.1 to 2.4.3 on a
dual-Xeon box running Solaris 10 amd64 (i686-pc-solaris2.10). I
configured as follows:
./configure --prefix=/opt/nut --with-gnu-ld --with-serial --without-usb
--with-cgi --with-gd-includes=-I/usr/local/include
--with-gd-libs="-L/usr/local/lib -R/usr/local/lib -lgd" --with-user=nut

Tripp lite SMART1000LCD
Hi,
I was wondering if Tripp lite SMART1000LCD is working in nut or
what code I should change to get it to work. I saw some
older posts about this model and the OMNI1000 LCD but the model
I have has a different product ID, 2007 vs. 2005:
Device descriptor: VID:09ae, PID:2007
Device release:0x10, USB release:0x110

PDL model
Dear r-help team:
Is a package implemented in R which includes a function that calculates
polynomial distributed lag models (also: Almon models, pdl-model)? Provided
a pdl function is available, can it be applied to robust statistics like
MM-estimators?
Thanks in advance!

Connect to Visual? and Bench Mark
Hi,
Is there any possible way to connect to VB, VC++, Delphi, Python, etc...
to R?
I am trying to put some nice GUI using something like VB and use R as a
back end for computations. I search through the FAQ and help archive, but
could not find any.
I am willing to look at any tools on Sun/Solaris environment as well (Like
C or Python or Perl).
If anyone can share some examples, pls let me

the large dataset problem
Dear useRs,
I recently began a job at a very large and heavily bureaucratic organization. We're setting up a research office and statistical analysis will form the backbone of our work. We'll be working with large datasets such the SIPP as well as our own administrative data.
Due to the bureaucracy, it will take some time to get the licenses for proprietary software like Stata. Right

embedding R?
My apologies if this is a FAQ, I searched the mailing list archives before
posting.
Background: I am a long time user of SPlus, and a recent user of R. My
work normally involves converting the raw output of something interesting
into data to be analyzed in S/R, for which I use Perl extensively. I then
import the data into S/R, perform the analyses I need, dumping the values
into a new file,

minor building issues (svn HEAD revision 427)
While attempting to package up the HEAD version of nut for our
department/campus, I've run into a couple of minor issues with the
latest HEAD - I'm going to give it another whack at a PW9170+ UPS and
want to make sure I have the latest revision. :)
First is, whilst building the drivers (SNMP required), I get:

encrypted passwords in Icecast 2
hello !
I've just installed the debian package icecast2 (I have the icecast 1.3.12
before) and I have a doubt about the passwords. In the icecast 1.3.* we
should use the mkpasswd for our pass and put the crypted output to
icecast.conf file.
Isn't possible in the icecast.xml file?? (perhaps is not necessaty, I
don't know). If this is so, can I change the permissions to this file to

Compiling Matrix on Solaris 10 x86-64 Sun Studio 12
Hi all,
I have trouble to compile Matrix packages on Solar10 x86-64 with Sun compilers.
I saw some postings on this but am not sure how to solve this problem.
It is becoming critical as I cannot install biocLite() because of its dependency on Matrix.
Could you direct me how to resolve the issue?
Thanks in advance!

compiling Rcpp with 3.0.1 on Solaris 10
Hello
My colleagues asked me to install "R" with module "shiny".
R version 3.0.1 compiled fine on Solaris 10 and is running well.
I tried to install "shiny". With the dependencies "Rcpp" should be installed before. But the compile step did fail. See below.
The initial error message is "Error in dyn.load(file, DLLpath = DLLpath, ...) :"
