[LLVMdev] Assertion fails resolving R_X86_64_PC32 relocation
I would think that the R_X86_64_PC32 relocation type should never be generated with large code model since large code model, by definition, makes no assumptions about the size or address of sections. The use of win32-elf might throw a wrinkle into this, since that is a code path that probably isn't exercised much outside of MCJIT use. That said, when this assertion fails it is usually

[LLVMdev] Assertion fails resolving R_X86_64_PC32 relocation
Hi llvm-community, I use llc (3.4-final) to generate object file: *llc code.bc -mtriple=x86_64-pc-win32-elf -mcpu=x86-64 -filetype=obj -code-model=large -o=code.o* then I load it with *RuntimeDyld + SectionMemoryManager* in my app. I faced the problem described in 15356 <http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=15356>bug. How to split module into several ones
Hi all, Can anyone give me advice about an appropriate way for extracting number of functions from module recursively (starting from entry point). Actually it may be more than one entry point so all dependent functions and global values must be extracted. I've tried llvm-extract tool but it can't do work recursively. Maybe it would be good to write some Call Graph pass or something. Any

GDB doesn't work with IR-originated debug info
Hi all, Need your help. I added some debug information to my code according to Kaleidoscope-9 sample and got stuck with a GDB error: (gdb) info functions > invalid dwarf2 offset 1849950870 > My module is a DLL built with llc+ld toolchain. Target triple: 'i686-w64-mingw32'. Looking this offset (1849950870 == 0x6e440296) in dwarfdump output of the dll gave the following:

How to catch EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION exceptions on win64
LLVM3.8 version. https://bugs.llvm.org//show_bug.cgi?id=24233. The example can catch exception. But I use my own code for testing, CustomEHMemoryManager allocated memory address is very large, allocateCodeSection, allocateDataSection assigned address (more than 32 bit address space) is getting smaller and smaller. Cause registerEHFrames to fail. 3.9.1 or 4.0.0 version has been supported on win

How to catch EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION exceptions on win64
For help: Llvm generated instruction calls a function (extern), the function will have a SEH exception (EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION), But JIT can not capture the exception of the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. I saw Bug 24233. EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION exception cannot be captured after modification. How to catch EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION exceptions on win64 ? haifeng.qin at wellintech.com

Clang/LLVM JIT - When to use "registerEHFrames()"
I'm catching up on this. Does this mean LLVM x64 JITTed code is not exception friendly or you can't catch exceptions inside LLVM JITTed code. The first one seems to indicate that the code is not ABI friendly or that not enough information is present to notify Windows of unwind tables. I'll ask the question another way: Does LLVM emit enough information so that RtlAddFunctionTable can

[LLVMdev] Detail question about how to implement Win64 SEH
Hi! I try to add more functionality to Win64 exception handling, based on the posted patches from Charles Davis and João Matos. But I have a question about how to map SEH handling to LLVM IR. The basic structure of SEH in C is as follows: __try { // Do something. } __except (filter(GetExceptionCode(), GetExceptionInformation())) { // Handle exception } How to

Hi Kai, > I try to add more functionality to Win64 exception handling, based on the posted > patches from Charles Davis and João Matos. > > But I have a question about how to map SEH handling to LLVM IR. are you sure you don't mean: map LLVM IR to SEH? I.e. are you talking about how to implement LLVM's "dwarf" exception handling intrinsics and landingpad

Clang/LLVM JIT - When to use "registerEHFrames()"
That's encouraging. Assuming that all access to the JITted code is going to be done through a function pointer, and all JIT code is ephemeral, why is the object container format important? In fact, why is it even needed? I found it somewhat odd that MCJIT generates an object file for even the JIT case. To answer my own question, could it be that advanced JIT's may need/want to use things

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Seh exceptions on Win64
Hi Chandler, There were five SEH releated patches posted in two threads in the last days. Two different patches in Martell e-mail starting this thread: the win64 seh (llvm) and the register names Three more related SEH patches in another thread: one for win64 seh clang, one for MinGW toolchain and another for unreachable prologue. To clarify and allow proper reviews for the different patches I
