[LLVMdev] help: the best ways of contribution for a beginner ?
Hello Developers, This is regards to my project plan. I am an engineering student and passionate about everything related to mobile, web and Compiler Design specially for embedded industry. I have experience of C/C++ language, developing GPU programming using OpenCL and shader language in Unix OS. I want to work on tools to make GPU computing available more simply, such as transparent LLVM

[LLVMdev] Backend vs JIT : GPU
Hi guys, I am understanding OpenCL compilation flow on GPU in order to develop OpenCL runtime for a new hardware. I understood that OpenCL compiler is part of a vendor's runtime library which is the heart of OpenCL. Since OpenCL kernel is compiled at runtime, hence at high level its compilation takes place in two steps: i. source code is first converted to intermediate code. ii.

[LLVMdev] Encountering flt_rounds_ in llvm3.3 for newlib compilation
I made the switch to llvm3.3, and encountered a flt_rounds I'm using a soft float architecture and hopefully people have some ideas on how to help: I received: i32 = flt_rounds "Do not know how to promote this operator!" I currently do not have any custom setting for the FLT_ROUNDS_ I'd like to just replace the FLT_ROUNDS_ with a "1" value. Any thoughts on how

Rails plugins new official maintainers
Hey guys, This is the final list of the new maintainers of each plugin. We need two more things to do: First please the owners of the repos add the rest of the maintainers. Second I will add a note on each rails/plugin mentioning this repos updates. So from now on, if someone else is interested in helping/contributing please send a message to the appropriate repo owner. verification

[LLVMdev] Question about Pre-RA-schedule in LLVM3.3
The flag -enable-aa-sched-mi should do what you want you want in the MachineScheduler pass. If you want to do it in the selection DAG, there is a subtarget hook that might do it: TargetSubtargetInfo::useAA() LLVM won’t generate the schedule you want anyway for Intel core processors, but the alias analysis can be useful in general. -Andy On Dec 16, 2013, at 6:03 AM, Haishan <hndxvon at

[LLVMdev] Question about Pre-RA-schedule in LLVM3.3
Hi, I compile a case (test.c) to get object machine file (test.o) using clang as follows: "clang -target arm -integrated-as -c test.c -o test.o" My clang version is 3.3 and debug build. //test.c int a[6] = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6} int main() { a[0] = a[5]; a[1] = a[4]; a[2] = a[5]; } //end test.c Then test.dump is generated by using the objdump tool. //test.dump ldr r1, [r0, #20]

Multiple resource definition error
Hi, So, I am writing a module to install and configure ucarp. There is only one module in puppet forge and that is not that good. In ucarp, same configuration files have to be served on two servers and to configure the host I am defining a custom resource ucarp::host::config. So, for using, I''ll have to create this resource two times on two different servers. So, this resource

[LLVMdev] PTX generation examples?
There is no MCJIT support for PTX at the moment (mainly because PTX does not have a binary format, and is not machine code per se). To generate PTX at run-time, you just set up a standard codegen pass manager like you would like an off-line compiler. The output will be a string buffer that contains the PTX, which you can load into the CUDA runtime. As for determining if PTX support is compiled

[LLVMdev] GNU LLD build error? Seems that Clang likes LLD just fine.
We should make LLD to be able to build with GCC even if GCC is a bit buggy. So you wrote that it's no longer build because of the recent change of makeArrayRef removal? I think it's my change (r196475). Can you confirm that you can build if you revert that change? If it has caused the build with GCC to break, we should roll it back. [LLVMdev] Optimizing math code
Hello LLVM-dev, I’m writing some crypto math code in C, and trying to make it as simple and portable as possible, so that there won’t be any unforeseen platform bugs. Ideally, I’d like the compiler to as much work as possible for me, and I’m wondering if you know how to make clang (or gcc, for that matter) do some of this. So I have a couple of questions. If this is the wrong list to ask for
