Asterisk and Fedora
Hello List,
I have been beating my head against the wall for a little while now
trying to get my TDM400 card to work with Fedora Core 4. Not a great
deal of success even after successful builds of zaptel and the other
required componentry. The machine doesn't even recognize the card.
Using Debian it was recognised but as a newbie to Asterisk most of

Thanks In Anticipation

Who are XO and L3?
Almost all DID providers refer to XO and L3. Are they the only sources for
DIDs in USA and everybody has to go to them? Could someone explain how
exactly it works?
Thanks

NHW Project - quality improvement for -l3, -l4, -l5 settings
Hello,
I have improved quality for -l3,-l4,-l5 settings.I have diminished residual
coding and I have raised again quantization. These settings are now better.
Update at: http://nhwcodec.blogspot.com/
The NHW Project with this version starts to be competitive at high
compression with x265.
Any feedback welcome!
Cheers,

centos 3.3 to 4.x?
Greetings,
A friend of mine is running 3.3
He asked what I thought about going to 4.4
I imagine it is best to backup and fresh install and migrate old configs and
data
What is the wisdom on the list
I remember going from beta 3 to 3 a long time ago.
Anyone ever upgrade from 3.x to 4.x without problem and how so?
I didn't see a lot on the www other than some apt-get info

open source security daemon or script
Can someone please tell me what the name and or website of the open source
realtime daemon or script is that automatically puts ip addresses in the
hosts.deny file when servers are repeatedly probed for login/password pairs
on ftp ports etc please?
It was mentioned in the last year on this list if I remember right.
I had bookmarked at one time and I cant seem to web search or find it
otherwise.

A couple more minor questions about OCFS and RHE L3
Wim, I opened a TAR on this issue, and was informed that async+ocfs
is supported (as opposed to "works") as of 1.0.9-12. If this is not the
case, then it sounds like there may be a miscommunication on the Oracle
side.

RHE L3 -- OCFS 1.0.9-12 and 1.0.12
Running database in ASYNC mode in RHEL 3 has a potential risk of redo logs failure due to some short io's.
A note from
http://oss.oracle.com/projects/ocfs/dist/files/RedHat/RHEL3/i386/README.txt
says that the above mentioned problem is fixed in OCFS 1.0.9-12
"RELEASE 1.0.9-12
Fixes a potential corruption with large, aligned, direct I/Os, for
example Oracle redo logs or direct path SQL

A couple more minor questions about OCFS and RHE L3
Sort of a followup...
We've been running OCFS in sync mode for a little over a month now,
and it has worked reasonably well. Performance is still a bit spotty, but
we're told that the next kernel update for RHEL3 should improve the
situation. We might eventually move to Polyserve's cluster filesystem for
its multipathing capability and potentially better performance, but at least
