[LLVMdev] How to disable register allocate optimization?
It looks like you are not using the right overloaded version of function BuildMI defined in MachineInstrBuilder.h. The register operand added to instruction sb should be a use, not a def operand. So this function should be called, BuildMI(BB, dl, TII->get(Mips::SB)).addReg(tmpReg1) instead of BuildMI(BB, dl, TII->get(Mips::SB), tmpReg1) On Sat, Jul 21, 2012 at 11:41 AM, Yang Yang

[LLVMdev] MachineMemOperand and dependence information
I have two questions regarding MachineMemOperands and dependence information. Q1) I noticed that MachineMemOperands are lost when two LDRs are combined and a LDRD is generated in ARMPreAllocLoadStoreOpt:::RescheduleOps. (before optimization) %reg1033<def> = LDR %reg1030, %reg0, 4100, pred:14, pred:%reg0; mem:LD4[%uglygep10] %reg1054<def> = LDR %reg1030, %reg0, 4104, pred:14,

[LLVMdev] MachineMemOperand and dependence information
Sorry, this is the part in ARMLoadStoreOptimizer.cpp that creates a LDRD instruction. Ops.pop_back(); Ops.pop_back(); // Form the pair instruction. if (isLd) { MachineInstrBuilder MIB = BuildMI(*MBB, InsertPos, dl, TII->get(NewOpc)) .addReg(EvenReg, RegState::Define)

[Sparc] Load address with SETHI
Hi, I'm trying to implement __builtin_setjmp / __builtin_longjmp for Sparc processors. I think I'm very close, but I can't work out how to issue BuildMI-type instructions to load the address of the recovery location (set in setjmp) into a register using the SETHI / OR combination. I can't see any equivalent code anywhere else in Sparc. I imagine this is similar if I try to make a

[LLVMdev] Virtual register problem in X86 backend
Hi, I'm having trouble using virtual register in the X86 backend. I implemented a new intrinsic and I use a custom inserter. The goal of the intrinsic is to set the content of the stack to zero at the end of each function. Here is my code: MachineBasicBlock * X86TargetLowering::EmitBURNSTACKWithCustomInserter( MachineInstr *MI, MachineBasicBlock

Look for createVirtualRegister. These are examples in PPCISelLowering.cpp. Evan On Jul 8, 2008, at 8:24 AM, Gary Benson wrote: > Hi Evan, > > Evan Cheng wrote: >> The patch looks great. Inserting MachineInstr's
Hi, I have a task to complete and I'm getting stuck. I can't find anything comparable in the documentation. The shortest explanation I can give is as follows: I need to use double-precision floating point values for floating-point multiplies. I'll not go into why: That would take the discussion away from the essential problem. E.g. Replace: fmuls %f20,%f21,%f8 with the

Would it be acceptable to change MachineInstr::getRegInfo from private to public so I can use it from PPCTargetLowering::EmitInstrWithCustomInserter? PPCTargetLowering::EmitInstrWithCustomInserter has a reference to the current MachineFunction for other purposes. Can you use MachineFunction::getRegInfo instead? [LLVMdev] Problem in X86 backend (again)
Hi, I'm still having problems implementing my custom inserter in the X86 backend. I found a solution to my last problem (http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/2014-October/078296.html), by using a virtual register. The binary works when it's compiled in -O0, but not in -O1,-O2,... I really can't figure what I'm doing wrong... Any idea? Here is the code of my custom

[LLVMdev] eliminateFrameIndex
Hi! I started writing a LLVM backend for a custom architecture. I have some register and instruction .td files and some other files/classes like a MCStreamer for assembler output. At the moment I can compile some empty programs so far. I implemented the method ::eliminateFrameIndex() similar to the Sparc and ARM backend. The method looks like this: // frame pointer is in reg of class
