Is there any relationship between IR instruction and execution time
Hi Matt,
Thanks you so much for the reply!
I've tried the llvm-mca, it is helpful.
I was wondering whether the llvm-mca support the assembly code for the ARM?
I cross-compile the test file for ARM like that: clang test.c -O2 -target
arm-linux-gnueabihf -static -S -o test.s
If I want to check the performance using llvm-mca, is there any option of
"-mcpu" for ARM ?
Thanks,
Yin

Is there any relationship between IR instruction and execution time
Hi Yin,
MCA does support the –mcpu and –mtriple options. We have one arm test in llvm/test/tools/llvm-mca/ARM for a cortex-9, which is an Out of Order chip.
Hope that helps!

Is there any relationship between IR instruction and execution time
Hello,
As is known to all, there is a relationship between program's instructions
and its execution time. In other words, we can estimate the execution time
based on the number of program instructions.
I'm curious about what the relationship between IR instruction and
execution time. I know the number of program instructions and the execution
time is highly related to the platform and

[LLVMdev] problem with runOnLoop

First, I believe that profile.pl is just a script that automates the
profiling process. You should be able to do whatever it is that the
script is doing

I don't really know what you should do since I don't know what your code
does. All I know is that it's changing the function's control-flow graph.
If you're not modifying the structure of the loops in the function, then
you can

[LLVMdev] problem with runOnLoop
hi all,
I want access to all basic blocks of function in a loop, so I used the
following code:
*bool parallel::runOnLoop(Loop *L, LPPassManager &LPM)
{
for (Function::iterator bi= func->begin(); bi != func->end(); bi++){
//
}
}*
First loop run without problem, but for second loop I get the following
error:
*0 libLLVM-2.9.so 0x0137d530
1 libLLVM-2.9.so 0x0137fa6c

i could not use profile.pl, however i did reinstall the llvm but didn't
solve my problem. is there is another way to extract profilling information
in llvm?
i have another question, i want know how can estimate execution time for
each operand such as mul ,add, ... ?

[LLVMdev] Def_Use chain
Hi All
I extract Def_Use chain by following code:
for (Value::use_iterator i = F->use_begin(), e = F->use_end(); i != e; ++i)
if (Instruction *Inst = dyn_cast<Instruction>(*i)) {
errs() << "F is used in instruction:\n";
errs() << *Inst << "\n";
}
Now, I want to distinguish the register name or memory variable that lead to

[LLVMdev] [Polly] Compile-time and Execution-time analysis for the SCEV canonicalization
Now, we come to more evaluations on http://188.40.87.11:8000/db_default/v4/nts/recent_activity
I mainly care about the compile-time and execution time impact for the following cases:
pBasic (run 45): clang -O3 -load LLVMPolly.so
pNoGenSCEV (run 44): clang -O3 -load LLVMPolly.so -polly-codegen-scev -polly -polly-optimizer=none -polly-code-generator=none
pNoGenSCEV_nocan (run 47): same option

[LLVMdev] execution time of bytecode and native
Hello All,
Thanks for the reply.I can generate the reports by compiling Spec through llvm, but that couldn't resolve my problem.
I m trying to determine execution time for the bytecode and native files , which are obtained as a result of running my pass over the original bytecode .I am running these experiments on spec benchmark.
In SPEC we have command line tools such as runspec where

[LLVMdev] def-use chain for Instruction
Hello all,
I am a LLVM newer who want to obtain the use-def chain for all instruction
of a sample code, for this purpose i use the following code.
///////////////sample code://///////////////////////
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <stdio.h>
#include <time.h>
#define ARRAY_SIZE 5
int main() {
int x, y, holder;
int k,z,f,i;
z=0;
f=0;
k=0;
for(x = 0; x < ARRAY_SIZE;

[LLVMdev] [Polly] Compile-time and Execution-time analysis for the SCEV canonicalization
Hello all,
I have evaluated the compile-time and execution-time performance of Polly canonicalization passes. Details can be referred to http://188.40.87.11:8000/db_default/v4/nts/recent_activity. There are four runs:
pollyBasic (run 45): clang -O3 -Xclang -load -Xclang LLVMPolly.so
pollyNoGenSCEV (run 44): clang -O3 -Xclang -load -Xclang LLVMPolly.so -mllvm -polly -mllvm -polly-codegen-scev

Baseline survival estimate
Dear R-help,
I am trying to obtain the baseline survival estimate of a fitted Cox model
(S_0 (t)). I know that previous posts have said use 'basehaz' but this
gives the baseline hazard function and not the baseline survival estimate.
Is there a way to obtain the baseline survival estimate or do I have to use
the formula which does something like S(t) = exp[- the integral from 0 to t

Execution Trace of Application in Wine
Hi
I am trying to dynamically monitor an application in Wine. Specifically
I would like to know
if there is some sort of 'ptrace' like API which will allow me to
attach to a windows executable
single step through the program and obtain the contents of the
registers and the instruction pointer as
the single stepping proceeds. I know I could manually single step via
winedbg but I would like
