[LLVMdev] [Valgrind-developers] [GSoC 2014] Using LLVM as a code-generation backend for Valgrind
Hi, only one letter got to valgrind-developers mailing list. I'll quote the first message of the thread so that those who do not read llvmdev knew what's this discusssion about. === Begin of the first message === > Hi, > > I've seen on the LLVM's Open Projet Page [1] an idea about using LLVM to > generate native code in Valgrind. [LLVMdev] LLVM and dynamic binary translator
Hi Arabinda, > 1. Can LLVM be used in a dynamic binary translator? Dynamic translator > translators target code for an architecture (say PPC) to host code (say x86) > and execute it. There has been some discussion about this within the past two months on this list, IIRC. You should try searching the archives for that discussion. IIRC, the outcome is that transforming binary code into

[LLVMdev] LLVM and dynamic binary translator
Hello List, I am a newbie regarding LLVM and need some information on LLVM. I am working on dynamic binary translation and I am looking into if LLVM can be used for the purpose. The goal here is to generate highly optimized translated (host) code from target code. I have following questions. 1. Can LLVM be used in a dynamic binary translator? Dynamic translator translators target code for an

[LLVMdev] LLVM and dynamic binary translator
Hello, > 1. Can LLVM be used in a dynamic binary translator? Dynamic translator translators target code for an architecture (say PPC) to host code (say x86) and execute it. Yes, see llvm-qemu project (2007 GSoC). > 2. Can LLVM understand disassembled target code and generate optimized host code? No, it's not a job of LLVM. You have to convert binary code for your platform into LLVM IR

mutt's new mail error
Hi, I use dovecot 0.99.13-3 (debian testing) in conjunction with mutt (1.5.6-20040907+2, also debian), and mutt keeps reporting new mails in my subscribed folders, even when none is available. I've seen a report from december 2003 which seems to correspond http://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2003-December/002741.html In this thread, it seems that if I don't use INDEX=MEMORY, I should

rmagick - Incorporating dynamic images
Hi -- I have imagemagick and rmagick installed so that I can produce images from code to a file. Can anyone direct me to where I can find guidance on how to have those images included on a web page (e.g., <img src="my_dynamically_generated_image") instead of having them sent to a file? Thanks for any input. ... doug --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You

[LLVMdev] ARM disassembler
Hi, I am newbie for LLVM. I need some help, I want to disassemble ARM binaries and perform some operation on LLVM IR and again back to generate ARM binary from modified ARM LLVM IR. How I can proceed for the same. Any tool or document will be highly appreciated. Thanks and Regards, Deep -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

NVPTX Back-end: relocatable device code support for dynamic parallelism
Hi everyone, CUDA allows to call some runtime functions also from the device code. On a multi-GPU system this allows the GPU to determine its device id on its own via cudaGetDevice(). Unfortunately i cannot get it working when compiling with clang. When compiling with nvcc relocatable device code needs to be set to true (-rdc=true) and the cudadevrt is needed when linking [0]. I did not

Asterisk codecs retranslation
Hello, everyone. I'm interested in one thing: as I know asterisk retranslates the media stream with the next way 1. Gets the frame with the UA1's codec 2. Retranslates it to slan 3. Ratranslates slan to UA2's codec 4. Send the frame It seems to me, that it follows these steps anyway, the question is: Will Asterisk retranslate the frame ua1->slin->au2, if the codecs of the 1-st

[LLVMdev] Advice - llvm as binary to binary translator ?
Hi Eric, I'm currently writing an IA-32 to LLVMIR translator. I'm only mid way through, but I can certainly say that there have been more difficulties than I anticipated when I began! I think that it is a reasonable approach, perhaps especially in your case, since you have an emulator already. Automatic static translation is equivalent to the halting problem for IA-32 code, though

[LLVMdev] Advice - llvm as binary to binary translator ?
First, is there a way to search the archives for this list ? I apologize in advance if I have stepped on a FAQ. My goal is to execute legacy binary machine code from a very old one of a kind computer on a variety of modern computers. I already wrote an emulator for the legacy machine that executes the old machine code. However, my emulator is just an interpreter and therefore has

[LLVMdev] Advice - llvm as binary to binary translator ?
I went ahead and tried to translate my legacy machine language into IR. Legacy branch instructions have me stumped. The branch instructions are already resolved to destination addresses in the legacy machine code. For example, there is an instruction that performs an unconditional branch to the address stored in legacy register B1. I can represent register B1 as a local variable: %B1

[LLVMdev] Questions on Parallelism and Data Dependence Analysis
Hi, I have two questions about llvm, and expect your reply very much. 1. Is there any plan of llvm to support Thread-Level Parallelism by using OpenMP, MPI, pthread or llvm-defined directives? If automatic parallelism exploring is very hard, what is the key problem? We can't get the precise data dependence information at compile-time? 2. Can I use the functions provided by llvm to

It messed up specs that had the should include() where the argument to include is a string (using no parens for the arg) IOW, given: context "OldSchool" do class OldSchool attr_accessor collection def initialize @collection = [] end def add_new(item)
