Hi Reza. Somebody on Linux should answer, but I don't think it's
normal. You may have checked out the source at a moment when it had a
bug

We are currently working on revising a journal article that describes
our work on pre-allocation scheduling using LLVM and have some questions about LLVM's pre-allocation scheduler. The answers to these question will help us better document and analyze the results of our benchmark tests that compare our algorithm with LLVM's pre-allocation scheduling algorithm.

433.milc, 447.deall, and 450.soplex are run as part of the nightly
tests on Darwin (=MacOSX) in a way that closely approximates -O4.
They are working there. I am inclined to suspect gold given that they
work at -O3. Can a Linux person comment?

I down loaded "llvm-gcc4.2-2.7-x86_64-linux" and I built Spec2006 with it.
It is great and except for one benchmark the rest work fine. I want to build
them with LTO now. I followed the directions in "
http://llvm.org/docs/GoldPlugin.html" and built ar, nm-new, and ld-new in
binutils. I also built libLLVMgold.so.
I get the following error:

What are the best options to compile Spec2006 with LLVM compilers to get the
best performance numbers on x86?
Has anybody compared LLVM Spec2006 numbers with GCC 4.5 base?

Hi Reza,
-O4 is the highest level of LLVM optimization that I know of. But, I
don't know
if it has been tried on Spec2006. IIRC, Dan Gohman has run Spec. tests
with LLVM,
so he can provide more info.

I've searched the Web with Google and do not find what might cause this
particular error from an invocation of cenboxplot:

[LLVMdev] LLVM 2.9 Fails to Compile some CPU2006 Benchmarks on X86
Hi,
We are using LLVM 2.9 (with the llvm-gcc front end) to compile and run the SPEC CPU2006 benchmarks on x86.
We are compiling and running the benchmarks on a an Intel Xeon E5540 processor running Ubuntu 10.10 (64-bit version).
For the native x86-64 target, we are using the following command-line arguments:
-O3 -march=core2 -mtune=core2
and are getting compile-time errors on the gamess and

bigglm() results different from glm()

I am using the bigglm package to fit a few GLM's to a large dataset (3

I have a problem with R!!
Dear all
i?m working with a program i?ve made in R (using functions that others

to run my program i need a sample. if i generate the sample using for
example, rnorm(n, mu, sigma) i have no problem
but if i obtain a sample from a column in excel and i copy it, the program

Adding a subset to a glm messes up factors?
Hi everyone,
I have a problem with running a glm using a subset of my data. Whenever I choose a subset, in the summary the factors arent shown (as if the variable was a continuous variable). If I dont use subsets then all the factors are shown. I have copied the output from summary for both cases.
