[LLVMdev] Error when running llc to compile .bc to .s
Dear staff, I downloaded an llvm version from the svn trunk at June 12, because the released 2.5 version can not support "gcc -g -Ox", and x=1,2,3. I use the version in svn to compile an httpd.bc file succefully with dbgstoppoint() functions. However, when I use llc to compile the bc file to .s file (llc -f -o httpd.s httpd.bc), I met this error (the httpd.bc file will be

[LLVMdev] Patch for llvm::DepthFirstIterator.h and llvm::PostOrderIterator.h
Hi Olaf, This patch looks good to me. I just have a few minor comments: > + inline df_iterator() { CurrentTopNode = 0; /* End is when stack is empty */ } Should the comment here be updated to say that the End is reached when the stack is empty and when CurrentTopNode is null? > + inline void toNext() > + { LLVM style puts the open brace on the same line as the function name.

[LLVMdev] Patch for llvm::DepthFirstIterator.h and llvm::PostOrderIterator.h
Hi @clang and @llvm, attached you'll find a patch dealing with some iterator issues I already mentioned in both lists. Since there was no reaction I cross-post again - now IMHO production-ready code. The patch is considered to get checked-in out of the box. It should not affect the behavior of existing and working code. I really need it for clang AST processing. Changes: 1. Both

[LLVMdev] GCMetadataPrinter::finishAssembly not executed?
Hi Pedro (et al.), On 02/14/2013 11:43 PM, Pedro Artigas wrote: > I believe what is going on is that there is an issue with the way that information is deleted (the CG information). Yeap, that's exactly the problem! :-) I noticed that the GCModuleInfo::iterator (line 931 in lib/CodeGen/AsmPrinter/AsmPrinter.cpp) is empty and, thus, GCMetadataPrinter::finishAssembly is never called.

[LLVMdev] GCMetadataPrinter::finishAssembly not executed?
Hello Yiannis, I believe what is going on is that there is an issue with the way that information is deleted (the CG information). Right now there is a pass whose only job is to delete that information (CGInfoDeleter) and that pass deletes the info before the AsmPrinter has a chance to call the finishAssembly function. Right now the order that the doFinalization is called on passes is the reverse

[LLVMdev] Pulling line number/file/path information from DbgStopPointInst instructions
Hi folks, I had some code that used to work fine in earlier versions of LLVM, but is now failing. I have some code that expands DbgStopPointInst instructions to my own entry points in an opt pass, but it's currently failing to get the file name and path back, though it is still correctly getting line numbers. If you happen to have a code fragment that is known to work, it would be

[LLVMdev] getAnalysisIfAvailable<>(...)
Is it consistent to have a Pass instance's run method's implementation use getAnalysisIfAvailable<AnalysisType>() (vs just using getAnalysis< AnalysisType >) when that same instance's getAnalysisUsage(AnalysisUsage &au) implementation invokes au.addRequired<AnalysisType>()? For example in the implementation of SelectionDAGISel::runOnMachineFunction(...) (called

[LLVMdev] Can I add GlobalVariable in MachineFunctionPass ?
Micah, As you expected, I am trying to create local memory but in the NVPTX backend. It's really not convenient that I can't create local memory in runOnMachineFunction. Hmm.... Since I should do it at doInitialization stage, I also need to do some tricks in global variable and AsmPrinter to resize it. Did you use the similar way? [LLVMdev] Sparc assembly syntax
OK, so the next thing I found in Sparc world is that sparc-elf-as doesn't understand .bss as a directive for some reason. I modified the Sparc code generator to output .section ".bss" and that works just fine. My (temporary) solution is a hack, however: ================================================================== --- SparcAsmPrinter.cpp (revision 720) +++

[LLVMdev] getAnalysisIfAvailable<>(...)
Hi! If a pass is required then it makes sense to getAnalysis<DwarfWriter>(). getAnalysisIfAvailable<>() is used for cases where a pass want to take advantage of (or fix up) info only *if* it is available. If you prepare a patch to fix getAnalysisifAvailable<>() uses (e.g. DwarfWriter requests you mention below) then I'll apply it. - Devang On Tue, Dec 8, 2009 at 11:11
