Help with Bootstrap function.
Dear List I am using R with mcgv package to model spatial variation in density estimates of dorcas gazelle in Sinai. I have 59 points of data and 4 explanatory variables(distance from mountain edge, camel presence, Latitude & Longitude). I want to test the model fir via bootstraping. I have used the jacknife bootstraping but it have the limitation of allowing only 58 trials. I tried to use the

StatDataML
Hi, we have a first draft of R functions reading/writing data to XML files including a rather general DTD ... which borrows heavily from the data types of a certain programming language :-) The basic idea is to create an XML standard for data exchange, together with import/export functions for as many applications as possible. We here will need R, Matlab & Octave for our research program,

Dear all I am very beginner user of R I want to calculate the power of t-test using power.t.test function. It is stated in the manual that the argument (n) is the number of observations per group. Infact I have a differens number of observations in each group(ie n1<>n2) and another thing is SD the pooled standard deviation of the observations in the two data sets under investigation. Hope

Surveys ans missing values
Hello, I still apologise if the question i ask is naive. I would like to use R instead of usual softs (SAS, Stata) or at list to do things that the others do not. As a consequence I am trying to get familiar with R, and i am astonished because it does not seem to do things that are easy to do on other softs. I have got data with missing values (I am working on a questionnaire filled by students)

install bug with specific JPEG library by exporting CPPFLAGS variable
Hi there, I think I have found a small problem in the "/my/path/R-2.0.1/src/modules/X11/MakeFile" generation. During the configure step, I have specified a specific JPEG library by exporting CPPFLAGS variable. All compilation works well for individual files in the src/modules/X11/ directory, but when linking, the -ljpeg option doesn't work. I obtain the following message (in french

Can I use EXPORT in a def file to export Dll's functions?
As it looks from the title, I found that the wineHQ source code has another way to export functions from DLL files and it calls the definition files like: FileName.spec I used to use the: FileName.def Of course under XP. So is it something refers to the compiler and it must respect this order or I can use the old school style I'm used to back in the days, because I find it kinda annoying

Some ideas
Hi all, I'll try to explain my suggestion with my poor english. I've got the feeling that icecast is full of potential but not growing as fast as it can or simply not having the support it could have. The greatest lack are the "open doors" for new coders, webdesigners, translators, etc. Icecast is open: the sourcecode is open, the mailing list is open, etc. But a skill is

(You start the smb daemons, then you have to wait a few minutes before the daemon states "waiting for connections" and then after you try to connect to a network share the daemon stucks" - all that behaviour when you use the local ldap) I found a workaround - if I use winbind nested
