[LLVMdev] Using LLVM JIT inside a Cocoa application
Hello, I'm not an LLVM expert, but I think you can build a Cocoa/LLVM project by using the LLVM's libraries and headers the same way you did with any other third party library. In fact, that's what the clang Xcode project does. It does not use any makefile. In short: - Add the llvm/include folder in you header search path (in the project's build settings). To add

[LLVMdev] Creating a LLVM Project from the Sample project
Hello, I have followed the steps described in http://llvm.org/docs/Projects.html. It seems there is a problem with the AutoRegen.sh script. In order to get the whole sample project working in a directory outside of llvm directory structure, I had to replace lines 22 and 23 by : llvm_src_root=../llvm llvm_obj_root=../llvm I am not a configuration specialist, so I can't tell if this is a

[LLVMdev] Access a specific address in the JIT compiler
Hi, I am using the JIT compiler to execute code that must interface with the running process. I would like to access some specific addresses. The solution I found is to create a global variable for each address I want to reference, and pass it as a mapping to the ExecutionEngine with addGlobalMapping. Is that how I should do this? Is there no way to just reference the addresses with constants?

compiling on snow leopard: Cocoa errors?!?!?!
Dear R-gurus, I'm trying to compile R on my new mac. It's snow leopard. So far I've seemed to be doing pretty well. I've looked at http://cran.r-project.org/bin/macosx/tools/ http://r.research.att.com/exp/ http://r.research.att.com/building.html http://r.research.att.com/tools/ All of which have been very helpful. Looking at the threads I've got around some X11 issues

[LLVMdev] Questions about LLVM
Dear list, I am learning LLVM and would like to add JIT support to the F-Script language. F-Script is a Smalltalk like scripting language that lives in the Objective-C runtime. It is written by Philippe Mougin. The goal is for me to become more familiar with LLVM, and learn about the conclusions we can draw in terms performance improvements (or degradation !), possible optimizations, etc. So

Embedding Rails in a Cocoa app.
Hi, Has anyone tried to embed rails into a Cocoa app? I have got this working to a very primitive point using RubyCocoa. After about half an hour of playing I was able to get WEBrick to serve the rails starter page inside of a Cocoa app, but that is as far as I have got. I have an idea for a client/server app where the server is a Cocoa application that embeds WEBrick (or another server solution

Ld64.lld cannot find Foundation framework
Dear LLVM community I need some help please. I want to use LLVM's clang and lld within a MacOSX sandboxed app. This is because sandboxing does not allow calls to /usr/bin/clang. The clang binary works fine to compile a file, but ld64.lld comes up with the error "cannot find framework". However similar arguments using /usr/bin/ld instead of ld64.lld works fine. Here are the

R-Cocoa Bridge
I had seen old posts on the list (circa 2002) regarding a Cocoa-R bridge that was under development, but I can't find anything recent about it. Does anyone know if this is available somewhere? If not, does anyone have any experience/pointers calling R functions from Cocoa? Thanks for your time, Lee Falin

Compiling Xapian within a Cocoa project
Hi, folks. I don't know much about C++, so please excuse my newbie question: I just tried to include Xapian in a dummy Cocoa project, ie created a new project and added the libxapian.a file installed via MacPorts. When I include xapian.h in an Objective-C++ file (either mm or h), the compilation fails with the following message: ================= In file included from

How to resolve conflicts between Cocoa and WineLib...?!
Hello Can you please tell me if it is possible to resolve the following Cocoa framework / WineLib 1.3.20 conflicts? I am trying to a port a game from Windows to OS X and I would like to use WINE's Windows Kernel32 library implementation in a Cocoa application [Embarassed] I think I can probably solve the problem by creating a C++ code only Cocoa framework and linking it with WineLib and my

More Embedding REngine in Cocoa
Hello once again, After locating the standalone REngine object set, I am having difficulty integrating them into the XCode project I intend to use them in. Suppose one started with the REngine standalone source and a blank XCode file, what special modifications need to be made to allow the source files to see inside R.framework? Importing the framework into the project, setting the

[LLVMdev] Requesting Feedback on my LLVM How-To
I've been writing up my experience embedding LLVM in a Cocoa app. If anyone would like to see it and give feedback, I'd appreciate it. It's still not finished, but the first part is there: http://roderickmann.org/stuff/LLVMTut/HowToEmbedLLVMWithXcode.html If it's worthy, hopefully it'll end up in the LLVM docs. -- Rick

[LLVMdev] Running Objective-C in the JIT
Hello, I've been trying to get some OSX code to execute within the JIT, and it's been causing me some major headaches! I'm attempting to JIT-compile some code which uses external OSX obj-C classes (Cocoa, etc), and also contains its own embedded obj-C classes. My first hurdle in doing this was that when the code tried to call Cocoa classes, the obj-C selectors weren't being

Embedding R Engine in Cocoa
Hello Everyone, I'm attempting to use the R-Engine from the Mac R.app GUI project to embed R in an Objective-C application I'm writing. However, after a few days of trying, dependencies to the GUI keep tying me down. I don't need anything fancy, I'm just feeding in vectors and running regressions on them, but even that seems to escape me. I've seen on the outdated R/Cocoa

R Cocoa won't load in Mac 10.3
I apologize for the post, but I have not been able to find reference to this searching the R-archives, web site and WWW. I installed R-cocoa 2.0.0 using the binary installer package on Mac OS 10.3. When I try to start the program from the GUI I get the following error message: Unable to start R: R_HOME is not set. Please set all required environment variables before running this program.
