[LLVMdev] Exception Tables in latest LLVM
Hey everybody! I have been using llvm 2.8 (i know ancient history!) for a backend that i was implementing. I have been trying to port my patches to latest llvm (svn build) lately but i have one problem as far as the Exception Handling mechanism is concerned. It seems that there are no Exception Tables generated any more such as the one below: .section .gcc_except_table,"a", at

[LLVMdev] Exception handling question
Hi, I'm trying to get exception handling working in my compiler targetting LLVM. I've been working from the LLVM exception handling documentation (including http://llvm.org/docs/ExceptionHandling.html and http://wiki.llvm.org/HowTo:_Build_JIT_based_Exception_mechanism) and looking at g++-llvm's output. I've been trying to get a minimal test function to work, which simply invokes

[LLVMdev] RFC: Exception Handling Rewrite
What? Yet another EH proposal?! This one is different from the others in that I'm planning to start implementing this shortly. But I want your feedback! I've all ready gotten a lot of feedback from Chris, John, Jim, Eric, and many others. Now is your turn! Please read this proposal and send me your comments, suggestions, and concerns. -bw

[LLVMdev] Exception Table Padding Change
Hi Duncan et al, Our linker guy brought up a problem with how we pad out our exception tables. Right now we pad them out like this: .section __DATA,__gcc_except_tab .align 2 GCC_except_table13: .byte 0x0 #< --- hun? .byte 0x0 #< --- hun? Lexception13: .byte 0xFF .byte 0x0 .byte 0xB2, 0x1 > Here are his comments: The problem is that the linker parses FDE which gives it

[LLVMdev] ARM c++ exceptions handling not working with clang/llvm-3.2?
Hello, am I wrong or the ARM c++ exceptions handling does not work? See the difference between assembly generated by clang and gcc with the following test code: #include <stdio.h> #include <exception> # test.cpp int main() { try { throw 20; } catch (int e) { printf("Exception Nr %d occurred\n", e); } return 0; }

[LLVMdev] RFC: Exception Handling Rewrite
Bill, ooops, yes, I described the meaning of "throw(A)" backwards, but I still think my example shows why you cannot merge LandingpadInst while inlining because multiple filter-lists on a LandingpadInst don't make sense. Perhaps I'm reading your original spec wrong, perhaps I'm mis-reading Duncan's emails, but I read them to mean that your syntax supports

LLVM EH tables much larger than GCC's
Hi, I'm investigating the size of Clang's generated binaries relative to GCC, when targeting Android, and I've noticed that Clang's exception tables are much larger -- the .ARM.extab section is about 2.5 times as large in two examples. I noticed a couple of differences between Clang and GCC: 1. *ULEB128 encoding.* In the call site table, GCC encodes offsets using a ULEB128

Question about TableGen RegisterClass definition
Hi All, I have a question about TableGen RegisterClass definition. I need to map different size of MVTs into a register class as below. def TestReg : RegisterClass<"Test", [v8i32, v4i32], ...> When I look at TableGen and CodeGen, it looks the types are used as following: 1. MCRegisterClass's RegSize and Alignment 2. SpillSize in TableGen 3. Type constraint for instruction

"Too many open files" error
We have a Sun E450 running Solaris 8 and Samba 2.2.8a as our domain controller. We have had no problems with Samba until earlier this week when we have started to get lots of these errors in log.smbd: [2003/08/08 16:29:14, 0] lib/debug.c:(348) Unable to open new log file /home/samba_pearl/var/log.smbd: Too many open file s This has been happening once a day, at the same time some users are not

reslov.conf on two DC's
So in my ears it makes sense to add this to the wiki for joining a domain as a DC. I will add it soon. Am 12. It would be nice to know what IPs the DCs have. BTW: I updated the wiki: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC#Follow-Up_on_.2Fetc.2Fresolv.conf Am 12.
