[LLVMdev] Potential Downtime of LLVM Server on Jan. 6
Dear All, Just a reminder that some work on our heating/cooling system will be done tomorrow between 8 am - noon Central time. If server room temperatures get too high, the IT staff will start shutting machines down. Since the LLVM server may need to be shut down on short notice, I can't guarantee that we can give you advance warning of it going offline. I strongly urge everyone to

Determining maximum hourly slope per day
Hello, I have a challenge! I have a large dataset with three columns, "date","temp", "location". "date" is in the format %m/%d/%y %H:%M, with a "temp" recorded every 10 minutes. These temperatures of surface temperatures and so fluctuate during the day, heating up and then cooling down, so the data is a series of peaks and troughs. I would like

Regression by factor using "sapply"
Apologies for the elementary nature of the question (yes, I'm another newbie)... I'd like to perform a multiple regression on a single data set containing a representation of energy consumption and temperatures containing account number, usage (KWh), heating degree days (HDD) and cooling degree (CDD) days. I want to get the coefficients back from the following equation: lm(AvgKWh ~

[LLVMdev] System Downtime
Dear LLVM'ers, The LLVM web site (and possibly LLVM email) will be offline roughly at 8:00 am tomorrow morning (Tuesday, January 6). At that time, our machines will be moved to their new home at Siebel Center. We are hoping to have services restored by tomorrow night, but it may be as late as Wednesday before everything is back on-line. We apologize for the inconvenience. Regards, John

sipura over heat
I'm experiencing a very unusual problem with a few of my sipuras. They keep over heating after minimal usage. I unplug them and let them sit for 15 minutes and it starts working fine. The other way around is that I put a fan on it or something to keep it cooling. Has anyone else experienced this or are they just defective units? Regards, Mohammed Salim EZZI Telecom, Inc.

[LLVMdev] LLVM Service Outages
Dear All, The Siebel Center (the building in which the llvm.org server is housed) is undergoing some significant work on its cooling system this weekend. Air conditioning will not be available, so we have been advised to shut down systems until the cooling work is done. This outage affects the following LLVM services: 1) The LLVM web server and SVN server will be unavailable starting noon

[LLVMdev] Possible llvm.org Downtime
Dear All, On Monday, March 17, the computer science building will have its cooling system turned off for maintenance. During that time, the offices and computer labs in the building may get warm, and as a consequence, we may need to power off machines. While I am hoping that down time will be unnecessary, we may need to power down llvm.org during the cooling outage. It is also possible

Newbie: Selecting data
I've been working with R for all of about 8 hours, so anyone with more experience than this should be able to help me. General comments about my methods of work are also welcomed. I have a table that I've imported thusly: > w <- read.table("woodford.data", header=T) > w start therms gas KWHs elect temp days 1 10-Jun-98 9 16.84 613 63.80 75 40 2

[LLVMdev] llvm.org outage
Dear LLVMers, There is some scheduled network outages detailed below that affect the llvm.org servers and LLVM Mailing lists. The LLVM server is housed on the fourth floor. I am not sure which rooms house the mailing list servers. All times are Central Standard Time. If someone from Illinois can distill the relevant parts of this message for LLVM users, I would be most appreciative. I am out

[LLVMdev] glod plugin use
Hi, I was trying to use gold plugin to compile and run some of my passes on some large softwares like mysql, apache etc. When I compile using llvm-gcc, everything works fine. But, when I followed the instructions on http://llvm.org/docs/GoldPlugin.html#build to use gold plugin, I got errors like: /home/vadve/ssahoo2/local/bin/ld: error: modules/standard/libstandard.a: no archive symbol table

CRAN downtimes
Hi, we had a broken heating system (in the floor above us) resulting in a water burst .... my office looks like if a bomb has exploded ... Currently our server is up and running again (it was down over the weekend) ... but we will move out of the devastated rooms and hence the CARN master might be down one or more times during the rest of the week. We'll try to keep the down times as short

Overheating on laptop as compared to RHEL
Hi, I have an acer 5738g laptop on which i tried out the centos6.4 live CD. The laptop feels noticable hotter and i check the temperature using something like cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/. The temperatures are around 57-60 degrees when the laptop is just idling, ie, just the desktop and the terminal window open. I install lm_sensors using yum and it installs successfully, but there is no
