automake 1.6 compatability patch
This patch cleans up the vorbis-tools Makefile.am files so they work with both
automake 1.4 and 1.6. Some changes to configure.in were also needed in order
to get things to work (and to fix some ac 2.50 issues).
Please remove config.h from cvs as it is a generated file and empty anyway.
automake 1.6 isn't really incompatable with 1.4, it's just more picky about
you sticking to the rules:

So I tried compiling it and got the following

Error compiling R.2.8.1 with gcc 4.4 on Mac OS 10.5.6
Hi all,
I've encountered a build error with the latest R source (2.8.1). This is a
relatively fresh install of OS Leopard (10.5.6), latest developer tools
installed, gcc/g++/gfortran version 4.4 installed (via
http://hpc.sourceforge.net/, after which I updated the gcc & g++ symlinks to
link to the 4.4 versions; gfortran used the 4.4 version without updating the
symlink).
Ultimately I

can't get tinc to compile..
Hi Tinc Mailing Group,
I've been trying for some days now, to get tinc up and running.
Could someone please suggest what I could do to get it working.
I've installed Redhat 6.2 onto a pc, and then installed the
latest 2.2 kernel: 2.2.18 from source code (The usual
make menuconfig ; make dep ; make bzImage , etc). I've followed
the tinc instructions for adding the

compile cvs trunk
Hello,
should the cvs trunk compile?
a configure first gave me errors. I had to replace
any appearance of "[config.h]" to config.h in the
Makefile.
Then a make did not finish:

make[2]: Nothing to be done for `all'.

CentOS 6.2-x86-64
Greetings all, newbie to CentOS here. Also newbie to 64 bit installs.
Package Manager problem:
I found a yumex, which is not part of the 64 bit install, but it wants a
way older version of python-2.4 whereas we have 2.6.6-something after the
post install upgrade.
1st Question:
Is there anything that can be done about this? Or is there something
better, like a 64 bit synaptic to replace

Trouble debugging with gdb, R on Windows
I'm trying to follow the example in the R for Windows FAQ on running
gdb and am getting stuck because gdb tells me "Cannot access memory at
address ...".
Here's what my gdb session looks like (This one from a cygwin shell,
but same results from plain Windows CMD shell):
$ cd R-devel/src/gnuwin32
$ gdb ../../bin/Rgui.exe
GNU gdb 5.2.1

Fink's vorbis-tools patch
Thought this might be useful to at least consider being included in 1.0.1.
It adds, among other things (maybe), an endian variant of AIFF-C.

Serial Correlation Test for Short Time Series
Hello,
Are there any R functions available for performing a serial correlation test
for short
time series (e.g, series having between 10-14 observations)?
Many thanks!

vorbis-tools 1.2.0 Release Candidate
I bumped the version number of vorbis-tools and am preparing it for an
eventual release in a few days.
A changelog of what's new may be found at [1].
Meanwhile, what's in SVN is a "Release Candidate" to find out if
anything was broken since version 1.1.1. Report any (or lack of)
problems you may find, so we'll be able to put out a new version of
vorbis-tools.

R Compilation gets stuck on Windows 64
Please note that building R on Windows is documented in "R Installation
and Administration", including links to external software. Particularly
there is a link to texinfo which is part of Rtools. The documentation is
maintained and it is a sufficient source of information for building R
on Windows.
