Strange things happening at SourceForge
Ars Technica reports of ?abandoned projects? on SourceForge being taken over by SourceForge with adware installers added to executables. arstechnica.com/information-technology/2015/05/sourceforge-grabs-gimp-for-windows-account-wraps-installer-in-bundle-pushing-adware/ This might be something to be wary of with FLAC considering the main focus for FLAC has moved from SourceForge to Xiph.org.

A bit OT...but here is a nifty Rails sighting.... ;)
According to arstechnica, <http://arstechnica.com/reviews/games/forever.ars>Duke Nukem Forever has been ported to Ruby on Rails and is now rendered with some kind of magic mishmash of svg-canvas and ajax! This truely is an example of the incredible power of a web browser. Any hope for getting Mr. Fowler to add a Recipe for this type of thing in his new book? ;) -------------- next part

Is this possible
I don't know if this is possible, so I will let the collective decide. Here is what I would like to do. BossA calls BossB, BossB's admin assistant sees the call from BossA on her phone. CallerID would look something like: BossA to BossB : on her phone. And she would be able to pick if BossB was not in his office. I am sure this is possible, but I do not know where to start, or even

Witcher 2 - DRM removal
I know I have seen posts recently of people trying to get this game to run through wine and did not know if the DRM on the game was a part of the issues they were running into. I'm sending this through just in case it helps: "A little over a week after its release, /The Witcher 2/ is getting its first patch, and with it all versions of the game will now be DRM free...With version

Password hashing issue
Hello, First off, thanks in advance for all of your help. Now to my issue: I am setting up my first email server. It will be for just me and a few other people. I am using an Amazon EC2 server running Ubuntu 12.04. My MTA is postfix. As I said, this is my first time setting up an email server, so I am following a guide that Arstechnia has published

ARS function
I am having problem calling ars function in ARS package. My parameter domain does not have upper bound or lower bound, so I did not givevalues to parameters ubx, lbx. But it keeps telling me the starting values I provided didn't have value to the left or to the right of the mode of the target density. I plotted the density function values for the absicssas vs the abscissae, the curve has a mode

[LLVMdev] VC++: Cannot open include file: 'windows.h':No suchfileor directory
Hi Jeff and Morten, I was just wondering if below wisdom is true, why not prefix every solution and project file with VC71 in front of the file name to signal the case that it is only designed for that specific IDE/tool? This gives us room for comming up with other solution and project files for another MS specific IDE/tool independt of each other. Henrik. ----Original Message Follows----

[LLVMdev] VC++: Cannot open include file: 'windows.h':No suchfileor directory
It's a possibility, though it would be better to create whole separate trees for different versions of VS. It's not just the project and solutions that need to be kept separate; the object files themselves cannot be mixed between different versions of VS. There's no rush though. Trust me, C/C++ programmers will not rush to adopt Whidbey once it's released. You'd be

[LLVMdev] LLVM with Microsoft Visual Studio
I successfully build llvm from cvs using vs2005 and stlport. I also had a couple of issues, but most were due to outdated project files. I also had to implement code for the alloca instruction.
