OggDrop version ?
How can I find out the version of the OggDrop program ? It has no version info ( no About box ) and the exe file properties has no Version tab. What version of the vorbis libraries is it using ? The same goes for OggDropXP ( it is a bit better , it has an about box with it version and compile date, but still no info about the used ogg/vorbis libs and no Version property for the file ) Regards,

v1.0 vs 1.1b re: Postfix and Dovecot LDA
In running the various 1.0.n versions of Dovecot's LDA with the instructions in the wiki for using LDA with Postfix [on OS X 10.4] things went well using the instructions as-is (no setuid problems). This changed in moving over to the 1.1 beta. The LDA refused to work failing with the error "setgroups() failed: Operation not permitted" as I mentioned in a previous message.

Ogg streaming on low bandwidth
Hi, Was wondering if any gurus could tell me if it is possible to stream Ogg on very low bandwidth links (for example satellite phone) where the expected bandwidth would almost certainly be less than 19Kbps, and probably more like 10Kbps. I am not after great audio at this bitrate, mono with an audio bandwidth less than 5KHz. I have done some testing (not streaming though) listening to 8Kbps MP3

Live VM migration
I have two hosts as Xen Server named host A and host B in the same network. A VM is created on Host A. Host A and B have a shared storage using NFS. While doing migration from host A to host B, how can I see the memory pages being migrated. If I run a small continuous program on the VM residing on host A, will the migration complete first or the sript running will complete first? How can I see

Renamed PDC, now user profiles don't work
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I just changed the NetBIOS name of my PDC (*not* the name of the domain) and now the security properties of the domain user profile on my Win2kSP4 workstation shows "S-1-5-21-..." as the user rather than the username. Also, System Properties|User Profiles shows that the account has been switched to a local profile and has been *deleted.*

EGCS optimizer bug?
The current development version dies in qbeta() when compiled with egcs -O, egcs 1.0.2 and glibc 2.0.7 (RedHat versions). Since this also kill the F and t distributions, it doesn't exactly do wonders for R's usefulness... Anyone else seeing this or has my setup just gone out of whack? It does look pretty much like a clear compiler bug when inlining math functions (storing temporaries

apply for nested lists
Hi, I am working with lists whose terms are lists whose terms are lists. Although the real ones contain locuslink identifiers and GO annotations (I work with the Bioconductor GO) package, I have prepared an simplified example of what I have and what I would like to do with it: Imagine I have a list such as:

SuSE RPMs available
Hi, first versions of RPMs of R and its libraries for SuSE 5.3 are available at CRAN: ftp://ftp.ci.tuwien.ac.at/pub/R/bin/linux/suse/ I compiled it with gcc and g77 from egcs 1.1b. There are still some problems: + the "event", "gnlm", ... libraries are missing (g77 complains about wrong declarations) + "modreg" does not work (library contains

failure building memcached rpm
Hi all, I need to install the latest memcached version (1.4.20) on a number of machines in this environment. There are only rpm's of this app for RHEL 6. But we need to install the latest memcached on a number of RHEL 5 machines. To be specific, they are OEL 5.7 hosts. I've installed all of the developers tools that I would need. But when I go to build the RPM I am getting the

Multi-Card reader (SD, MMC, etc) and CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN kernel option in 34.0.2. Workaround
Hi folks, Im trying to get a multi-card reader on centos (SD, MMC, and so, 4 card slots) and i have read (http://www.cs.sfu.ca/~ggbaker/personal/cf-linux) that CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN should be enabled on kernel (=Y) but current 34.0.2 doesn't have it enabled by default, is there any particular reason to not be enabled? By the other hand i've also tweak the /etc/grub.conf file to boot the
