how to define the bound between parameters in nls() (Jinsong Zhao)
The multiple exponential problem you are attempting has a well-known and long history. Lanczos 1956 book showed that changing the 4th decimal in a data set changes the parameters hugely. Nevertheless, if you just need a "fit" and not reliable paramters, you could reparameterize to k1 and k2diff=k2-k1, so k2=k1+kdiff. Then kdiff has a lower bound of 0, though putting 0 will almost

Join as DC requires libacl, not avail on Solaris
Arter managing to build Samba 4.1.5 on Solaris 10 i386. I tried to join an existing Windows 2000 Server Active Directory domain as an additional domain controller. The join started to work and then died with the error: Error: Samba was compiled without the posix ACL support that s3fs requires. Try installing libacl1-dev or libacl-devel, then re-run configure and make. I downloaded acl-2.2.52 and

Quicken 2011 Starter Edition, installs, crashes when run
I have a legal version of Quicken 2011 Starter Edition, and I am trying to install it using Wine on my up to date Linux Mint install (Mint 10 "Julia" based on Ubuntu Maverick) I have tried this a couple of ways: using Wine from the default repos (1.2.10 I think?) as well as wine from the WineHQ site (1.3.11) I have tried this install method:

Nouveau should create a script to download the bleeding-edge version
I've tried to use Nouveau several times, with several operative systems (Ubuntu, Mint, Trisquel). Seemingly, the versions of Nouveau are too old, since my screen is detected as being smaller than it is. All in all, I tried to follow the instructions to build from scratch (in order to have the really latest version), and failed. Would somebody mind to create a script to download the sources,

Does libvirt support HyperV Server 2012?
Hi, I wanted to know whether libvirt-1.2.10 supports HyperV Server 2012 and/or SCVMM Server 2012. There is a requirement for us to deploy a VHD image to the HyperV Server 2012 SP2. We are planning to do this using libvirt-1.2.10. Thanks Paddy

ANNOUNCE: cifs-utils release 5.0 available for download
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 It's been a while since our last release and Shirish's new cifs.idmap utility has now been merged. The last release was 4.9, so I've been a bit torn -- should I call this one 4.10 or 5.0? Then I figured...when in doubt, copy Linus. Since he just bumped the major version number of the kernel, this is now version 5.0. The main changes: -

I can compile old wine from download page, but not from git?
Hello again. The problem is - when I download wine - let say 0.9.53 from here: http://ibiblio.org/pub/linux/system/emulators/wine/wine-0.9.53.tar.bz2 I can compile it on Debian Lenny without problems, however - when I use git like this: git clone git://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git wine-git cd wine-git git-reset wine-0.9.53 git checkout -f ./configure && make depend && make I

Gcc error during make depend/make of latest Git-Wine source.
I'm on Linux Mint Fluxbox CE 5 trying to compile the latest Git source. I previously had Wine 1.0 something from the Synaptic repos, and wanted bleeding edge so I did Code: $ aptitude remove wine and then followed the Wine + Git instructions. After the repo was cloned I ran ./configure, installed a couple dependencies and libfreetype-dev, and the config script then ran fine. Then I
