Re: Virtual gaming/workstation desktops using KVM VGA passthrough?
GizmoChicken,
Read that there's a problem with Nvidia GeForce GTX cards and both Xen and
KVM, like it's not on a Nvidia whitelist, I'm a bit concerned. From the
ArchLinux thread I've seen some success with Nvidia GeForce GTX cards, this
is confusing. The bit I read here was:

Re: Virtual gaming/workstation desktops using KVM VGA passthrough?
Hi Alex,
The first bit of advice that I was about to give was that you should
have a look at a particular thread on the Arch Linux user forum. But
as it turns out, the article that you found (which seems really
well-written) already mentions that thread, and in fact even links to
one of my comments on that thread, namely this comment:

PCI passthrough fails in virsh: iommu group is not viable
I would really appreciate some pointers on what I am doing wrong here.
I have a need to run multiple virtual guests which have each their own GPU and
some USB controllers passed-through. I am able to run one of the guests like
this (assuming vfio stuff has happened elsewhere), but I would prefer to use
virsh:
kvm -M q35 -m 8192 -cpu host,kvm=off \
-smp 4,sockets=1,cores=4,threads=1 \
-bios

Rewriting Intel PCI bridge prefetch base address bits solves nvidia graphics issues
Hi,
We are facing a suspend/resume problem with many different Asus laptop
models (30+ products) with Intel chipsets (multiple generations) and
nvidia GPUs (several different ones). Reproducers include:
1. Boot
2. Suspend/resume
3. Load nouveau driver
4. Start X
5. Observe slow X startup and many many errors in logs (primarily
nouveau fifo faults)
or
1. Boot
2. Load nouveau driver
3. Start X

VGA Passthru - FLR?
Hi, everyone. I''m Guilherme Suzuki (brazillian, by the way) and really
interested in xen-vga-passthru.
Lately, I bought a brand new Saphire HD 7950 (OC Boost) because I saw in a
wiki somewhere that users have been able to passthru these VGA devices to
domU (win7, win-xp and so on).
But, after I installed it, I executed *lspci -vv* to check if FLR in DevCap
was present (which

Is it possible to mod a Geforce GTX 560 graphics card into a Quadro?
Dear Gordan,
I have a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 560. Is it possible to mod it into a Quadro?
If it is possible, please give me the link with the list of steps to mod
it into a Quadro. Is it a simple process?
Thank you very much.

Primary VGA Passthrough Status
Hi All-
Is it possible yet to pass through a ATI or Nvidia GPU as the primary VGA
card to a Win 7/8 VM, and have it fully functional there (DXVA etc),
without crashing the guest or the host during operation or when resetting
the guest?
For hardware I have an E3 v2 Xeon, Tyan S5512 board, and an ATI 7750.
Thanks!
David

VGA-Passthrough: Driver suggestion for Nvidia GT 520
Dear list,
currently I have a Debian Wheezy with Kernel 3.6.6 and Xen 4.2 as Dom0
and an Ubuntu 12.04 as a HVM DomU with vga passthrough for my Nvidia
GT 520 card working. Hardware is a Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 with IOMMU
and an Athlon II. I used the howto by David Techer to get my card
running.
Currently I can only use the driver version 275.xx of the nvidia
closedsource driver. All newer

I offer a reward of USD$50 + VGA card Giveaway to anyone who can solve my Xen VGA Passthrough Problem
_History_
I have 100% success in Xen VGA Passthrough with Xen 3.5-unstable with my

several months ago in March 2012 for S$44, to replace the first card. At

VGA as vfio-pci and vnc server's blank/black display
hi,
I'm having a Radeon as vfio-pci, which seems to work
perfectly fine, but...
Qemu's model type='vga' gets "exlaimed" in win2k8's Device
Manager with:
"
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported
problems. (Code 43)
"
Now, that does not bother me that much as all I need on
regular basis is RDP but VNC connection gets me nowhere.
I get

Nvidia VGA Pass-through
Hello,
I''m experimenting with VGA pass-through using debian wheezy with the
debian 3.2 kernel. I could get pass-through of my onboard intel card
without much problems, but I didn''t have any luck so far with my nvidia
gtx 580.
I have two general questions regarding this:
1) What is the best Xen version to try this? I tried 4.2, but could only
find patches for a quite old

VGA PassThrough works for EVGA GTX 460 SE 1024 MB
Hi
Finally I succeeded to use my graphic card EVGA GTX 460 SE 1024M with Xen 4.2 unstable.
Before I was using my MSI GT 440.
I am little excited that it works now.

Hi,
thank you very much for your reply.
I will explain my use case in more detail. First thing is to note that
it worked with nvidia (apart from this annoying system freeze which
happened roughly every three months).
