Very strange - AJAX is flakey when I uploaded my site
The weirdest thing is happening. I have an ajax uploading call, and after I uploaded it, every part of the controller will work except the ajax call. The Ajax call is to a javascript function that is in one of my js file. Ive confirmed that the controller runs all the way till the render :update. Then, there I have: responds_to_parent do render

OpenPhone <-> Asterisk w/H.323
Hello- In order to satisfy a customer requirement, I've just build H.323 under asterisk (using the specified versions of OpenH323 & PWLib, and trying to follow the instructions religiously), and it seems to have come up fine. When testing with with OpenPhone (Windows version 1.8.1) and NetMeeting, I've gotten some intermittent results however. All my calls are from a PC to asterisk -

[PATCH] xfstests: add generic/320 to test fsync() on directories V2
Btrfs had some issues with fsync()''ing directories and fsync()''ing after renames. These three new tests cover the 3 different issues we were seeing. This breaks out the dmflakey stuff into a common helper to be shared between generic/311 and generic/320. Thanks, Signed-off-by: Josef Bacik <jbacik@fusionio.com> --- V1->V2: moved this out into its own test instead of

unable to create channel, in strange state, exited non-zero, etc.
I'm having various issues that may or may not be related to each other (I'm pretty sure they are). We've had this system for a year now (quad T1 card, right now we have 1 T1 coming in, 2 going out to channel banks) and we've had intermittent "ghost" calls--it appears that what is happening is a call is made, the number being called is disconnected/busy/answering

rsync 3.0.7 intermittent failures with many large files
I have recently changed the version of rsync I use from the ancient 2.6.6 to 3.0.7. Every since then it seems to me that I am getting more rsync failures than before. Hopefully, other people can share their experiences and point to the cause which, I acknowledge, might be me doing something wrong. The rsync error long indicates things like: rsync: writefd_unbuffered failed to write 4092

intel quad gigabit nic and pci passthrough
Hi all I have a very weird case of pci passthrough. I have a machine with 7 network interfaces, all of them intel. Four of them are on one quad giga ethernet device. If I manually unbind the devices and allow qemu to use them, with intel IOMMU working, everything works like a charm. Here's how I do it manually: root@kybrat (x86_64) ~]$ lspci -nn | grep net 00:19.0 Ethernet controller

CPU1 never used despite HTT?
Hi, I am running a Xeon with hyperthreading support. Until last week's HTT modifications, according to ps(1) and top(1) both logicals CPUs were in use. (Processes in CPU0 and CPU1 state; "C" column showing "0" or "1".) This has changed with a recent -STABLE kernel which includes last week's changes to HTT (removing "options HTT"). I am only seeing

Possible Issue with Samba Blocking I/O and CPU
Hi, I am experiencing a puzzling problem that may or may not be related to recent versions of Samba. I'm posting on this list, however, because it seems that setting "write cache = 262144" (256K) in smb.conf resolves the issue and so I have reason to believe the problem might somehow be related to Samba. The problem I am seeing is this. I have a Linux Samba server. When

how to recreate eth0 - Realtek 8169sc
Hi all, Our intranet's WAN interface just stopped working yesterday, and I can't figure it out. The machine has a Gigabyte motherboard, with on-board RTL-8110SC/8169SC Gigabit Ethernet and D-Link PCI NIC for the LAN side. I can get into the LAN side without an issue, but can't see the WAN side at all. [root at intranet ~]# ifconfig eth0 up eth0: unknown interface: No such device

vfs_fruit works great on OS X 10.9.5, 10.10.3 notsomuch
Hi Ralph, Ok, the problem was a PEBKAC issue. :-) Sorry to waste your time. In troubleshooting this earlier, I'd created the file "nsmb.conf" in my user Library directory with the following contents: [default] smb_neg=smb1_only In earlier troubleshooting, some folks suggested that might help the situation. It didn't, and I'd forgotten to remove it. I've removed it

Intel 82574 issue reported on Slashdot
For those that may have run across the story on Slashdot about this NIC, here is our statement: Recently there were a few stories published, based on a blog post by an end-user, suggesting specific network packets may cause the Intel? 82574L Gigabit Ethernet Controller to become unresponsive until corrected by a full platform power cycle. Intel was made aware of this issue in September 2012 by

Maximum samba file transfer speed on gigabit...
Ok so maybe someone can explain this to me. I've been banging my head against the wall on this one for several weeks now and the powers that be are starting to get a little impatient. What we've got is an old FoxPro application, the FoxPro .dbf's being stored on a Linux fileserver using Samba (Fedora 3 currently, using Fedora 5 on the new test server). We're having speed

FW: Outlook .pst on a samba share; do or don't?
I'm running a new (6 months old) fast server, with an ultra-scsi RAID array . . . some of my workstations, however, are getting elderly: some are 5 year old 350Mhz machines, and my users are finding it faster to put their .pst files on their Samba-shared Linux home directories. (50 users, .pst files from 100mb to 1.5Gb). (yes, yes, I know, 1.5GB is WAY too big for a .pst file; its a constant

panic: vinvalbuf: flush failed
Hi, We have a pretty serious problem with our news server crashing during the expire cronjob. This happened with 4.7-RELEASE, so we upgraded to 4.8-RELEASE recently, hoping that the problem might be fixed, but it isn't. The machine is a Compaq DL360-G2. I've searched the PR database as well as the mailing list archives for the panic string, but didn't find anything. What makes the
